Chapter 6

Natasha's POV

I wake up and feel a presence next to me. I then remember last night, the kiss with Steve, my nightmare, him coming to sleep with me. I sit up on the bed, careful not to wake him, but of course I failed.

"Nat ?" he says with his sleepy voice. Oh my god, his voice is so sexy.

"Hey"

He sits up on the bed and rubs his eyes.

"Do you feel better ?" he asks me.

"I think I do"

"Do you want to talk about it ?"

I sigh and turn back to him knowing he won't leave me alone.

"For the past two days, I've been having the same nightmare. I see myself falling off that cliff and my skull breaking against the stone. I can't control them, and I'm afraid to live this scene again." a tear rolls down my cheek and he gently wipes it away.

"Hey Nat, don't worry, it's just a nightmare. And if you want, now I'll sleep with you at night so you're not alone."

"Thanks Steve"

I take him in my arms and we stay like this a bit.

"Come on, let's take breakfast"

I get up and we go to the kitchen. There's only Bucky and Yelena when we arrive and they seem to be in a deep conversation. Steve coughs a little and the two turn around, embarrassed, and I laugh.

"Are we interrupting something ?"

"No, no not at all, we were just talking" hastens to say Bucky.

"Of course, we believe you" I say ironically and sit down to hit pancakes.

Bucky's POV

Before the others arrived, Yelena and I were talking. I admit that I really appreciate it and after that kiss last night, I don't really know what to do. So I come into the kitchen and sit next to her.

"Hey"

"Hey"

"I wanted to talk to you about last night" we say at the same time. We laugh, embarrassed.

"Go on, start" she tells me.

"I wanted to tell you that I loved our kiss last night and then I got to know you in two days and I feel like I've known you forever. I want to try something with you."

"I want to try something with you too"

I look at her and smile. I take her face and kiss her softly. I withdraw and we start talking about everything and nothing. And that's where Steve and Nat came in.

"Are we interrupting something ?"

"No, no not at all, we were just talking" I hasten to say.

"Of course, we believe you" says Nat and she sits down and starts eating.

An awkward silence settles in the room and Yelena and I have a sort of eye-to-eye conversation. She asks me if we should tell them and I tell her we'll do what she wants. Steve sees us, he looks at Natasha and they in turn have a conversation.

"Wait, are you two... together ?" asks Nat.

"Hum, well..." tries to say Yelena but Nat cuts her off.

"So it means yes"

"Yes"

"Рад видеть тебя счастливым" ("Glad to see you happy")

"Спасибо" ("Thanks")

"Никакой ерунды сегодня вечером" ("No bullshit tonight")

"Не переживай" ("Don't worry") I interfere.

"You speak Russian ?" asks Nat.

"Do I need to remind you that I was a subject at Hydra ?"

"Am I the only one who didn't understand this conversation ?" asks Steve.

"Looks like you are" I say.

We laugh and Steve and I go aside.

"So, did you find the one ?"

"I think I did" I smile.

"I'm happy for you Buck, you deserve it"

"Thanks Steve. And you, when are you going to confess your feelings to Romanoff ?"

He starts to look embarrassed and blushes.

"What are you talking about ?"

"Listen to me Rogers, you can lie to the others, you can lie to yourself but you can't lie to me. I see how you look at her. These aren't look you throw at a friend."

"Buck, it's not even mutual. I don't want to ruin our friendship because of my feelings."

"Steve, at some point you will have to tell her. You're hurting yourself."

"Don't worry about me. Till the end of the line."

"Till the end of the line"

He takes me in his arms and we go back to see the girls.
