Chapter 12

Natasha's POV

A month has passed and it was like we were living a fairy tale. Everything felt right. Steve made me feel like a queen everyday and was just so sweet. The nightmares also stopped but I have a bad felling about this. It's like they paused but when they'll come back it will be worse than before. I didn't tell Steve about this because I don't want him to worry. I know he will freak out and then I will freak out and it will not be good.

Everyone is fine. Yelena and Bucky are living their passionate relationship, Wanda is happier than never with Vision and Clint is finally in peace with himself and his family. Thor tried to meet new women but I know Jane is still in his heart. They're soulmates and have to end up together. Bruce is very quiet about his love life and comes less and less to the HQ. Tony knows I'm alive (it still feels weird to say this) and said he'll come in a week to visit me because he had a lot to do. I don't mind him, he has a family and we know where our priorities are. But he wanted to do things right so he organized a big party with all the Avengers to celebrate my return. I know he missed me, even if he'll deny it. Carol has been acting weird recently so we will talk to her later. I don't like seeing my friends sad. I know it sounds cliché but it's the truth.

They're the best thing that happened to me. Friends are here to support you no matter what through everything. You know they'll die for you and they know you'll do the same. Because it's what friends do for each other.

"Nat, you need to get up" I groan and put my pillow on my head.

"Why ?"

"Because, Tony is coming today and he has something important to tell us"

"Can't we stay in bed ?"

"No, we can't" he kisses my head and plays with my hair.

"Then you go, I stay"

"Nope, you're coming with me"

"No"

"Natasha Romanoff get up"

"Or what Steven Rogers ?" I smirk.

"Don't tease me"

"What if I want to ?"

He smiles at me before putting himself over me with his arms blocking me.

"Then I guess you'll have to be punished"

He starts to come closer and closer to me until our lips are inches apart but when I thought he'll kiss me, he just step back and go to the bathroom.

"Hey ! That's not fair !" I scream so he can hear me.

"That's your punishment ! Now get ready and maybe you'll have one kiss !"

"Fine !"

I stand up and put on a sweatshirt and some joggings. I leave the room and go to the living room.

"So that's how you dress when I'm visiting ?"

I turn and smile when I see Tony standing there.

"Missed you too Stark"

I put my arms around his neck and hug him.

"I'm sorry Natasha"

"What for ?"

"It shouldn't have been you. I could have gone there. Not you. Or Clint."

"How many times do I have to tell all of you ? It was my choice, I wanted to die. Why do you think I went there in the first place ? Because I knew one of us will die. We couldn't stay all alive. And you're my family, there was no way I will let any of you die there."

I see Tony looking at me like I said something wrong. I turn and see Steve, looking like he has just seen a ghost. I try to approach him but he steps back and leaves the room.

"Shit"

"Why do I feel there's something you haven't told me ?"

"There's so much to say"

"I've got time"

We sit in the couch and start talking. I tell him about my return and our life in the HQ.

"And I'm dating Steve"

"I knew it. The boy is so whipped."

"What do you mean ?"

"You didn't see him when you were gone. He was broken."

"Really ?"

"Yeah, and I think you should talk to him"

"No, today is about you, I'll talk to him later"

"Are you sure ?"

"Don't worry about me"

"Okay then let's get everybody here"

"Pepper's here ?"

"Of course"

I slap him slightly and he looks at him offended.

"Can I know the reason why you just did this ?"

"Why didn't you tell me earlier she was here ?"

"Because you didn't ask !"

"Where is she ?"

"Right here"

I turn around and see her with her arms open. I stand up and run in her arms. Even if we're not the best of friends, I love her.

Steve's POV

"We have great news to announce" says Tony.

"What is it ?" asks Vision.

"Pepper and I decided to redo our wedding ceremony but with family this time"

"Congratulations !"

We all get up and go hug the lucky ones.

"Oh but I haven't finished yet, I also wanted to tell you who will be my best men"

"Who are they ?"

"First Rhodey," The concerned person stands up and hugs his best friend. "And then Happy"

"Me ? But I am your assistant"

"And a person who has been here for me during all these years"

Happy stands up and hugs his boss.

"When is the ceremony ?" asks Natasha.

"Tomorrow"

I open my eyes wide and everyone does the same.

"And you got time to prepare everything ?" I ask, shocked.

"Don't you know who I am ?" he laughs.
