Chapter VIII

I opened the book, and there were two letters, one of them from my parents, the other one from Orion:

Dear daughter,
We are very proud of you that you found it. The next step will be to read everything carefully. I hope you'll like it.
Mum and Dad.

This book is written by Orion Ashford, and offers explaining to the human (natural) seeing, and the supernatural one. Not many people know about the last one or how to unlock it, so you can be very proud of yourself that you found „Eyes". Keep it as a secret and sign!

INTRO

Dear reader,
„Eyes" is a project made by Orion Ashford. The most important topics are human seeing (natural seeing), supernatural seeing and the border between both of them. Sources are the experience of Orion Ashford, in addition some reports (by the police) This book is written like a diary, so don't get confused.

DAY 1 AFTER FINDING THE CURSED BOOK

I didn't read much today, about 11 pages. The writer introduced himself, and started to explain seeing. You can divide the term „seeing" by two other terms: Human seeing and Supernatural seeing. My first question: What's the difference between both of them? And I guess that I have to find out. To make my notes clearer, I will tell you what you will find out in the next entry. The next topic is: Human seeing.

DAY 2 AFTER FINDING THE CURSED BOOK

The human eye is a complex organ with a lens system. This lens system creates images of objects on the retina that are processed in the brain.

The eye has the ability to:
- See objects clearly at different distances
-to adapt to fluctuations in brightness
-Perceive colors.

-We perceive most of all information from our environment through our eyes.
We perceive upright, laterally correct images.
How seeing works

The different brightness of the image is converted into electrical impulses by the rods and cones of the retina. These are passed on to the brain in the optic nerve, where they are processed into optical impressions.

The objects we are looking at have very different levels of brightness. This means that the light intensity falling in the direction of the eyes is also very different. To control the light intensity falling into the eyes, the iris can be changed using the pupil as an opening.
At high brightness the pupil is small, at low brightness it is large.
You seem to be very bored, Orion, now I've learned exact the same stuff we did in class. There must be more- more then an explaining how humans see. Maybe I should keep it in mind and start to compare it with this supernatural seeing? I will come back tomorrow to read about that topic.

„Why can't we just stay here and find out more?"

„What's wrong with reading a book?"

Tierra didn't allow us to.

„She's not our mum."

But she wants to be ours.

„She can try, but as long as I am the teacher here, you will not call her mum. Even if our parents passed away, alright?"
