"Who's your favorite?" Jin asked as I took a bite of my steak. I hesitated, feeling nervous. "Do I really have to answer?" I asked, and he nodded. This conversation had been going on for an hour. The boys had their BT21 merchandise out, and with their Bon Voyage shooting schedule coming up, they were trying to cheer me up since I wouldn't be joining them.
"Noona loves Chimmy," Jimin said, taking a sip of Soju as I chuckled. "Well, I'm her best friend and she likes to dance, so she loves Mang," Hobi added proudly. I winced, knowing I was about to break their hearts.
"This is why I didn't want to say. Seokjinnie Oppa, if they kill me, I will haunt you," I joked, making everyone laugh. "So, which character do you like?" Yoongi asked with a knowing smirk. Ugh, I hate you.
"I love Koya," I said softly. I noticed Namjoon's wide smile, which made me blush. Yoongi wiggled his eyebrows at me, and I glared at him.
"ANIII WAEEEE!" Jin exclaimed. "RJ is so cute. He's so adorable and comfortable. Why do you like Koya? All he does is eat, sleep, and repeat," he argued, making everyone laugh.
"Oppaaaaaaaa, I love RJ, but Koya is— I don't know how to explain it, I just love Koya," I said earnestly, in a cute way that made Jin chuckle. He ruffled my hair and went back to his food.
"Why aren't you coming with us?" Jungkook asked.
I sighed. "My mother wants to meet me. It's her five-year anniversary with her boyfriend, so she's throwing a party," I explained, which made everyone sigh in sympathy. "It's okay. I'll be there to drop you off and pick you up from the airport," I added with a smile.
"I'll bring you something from there!" Hobi said, and everyone nodded in agreement.
"We all will bring a souvenir," Taehyung said, giving me a side hug. "Thanks, Taehyung-ah," I smiled. "I'll be leaving a few days later anyway," he added, as he had some work. "It's just one day," Jimin said.
"Have you ever been to Malta?" Namjoon asked. I nodded enthusiastically. "It's beautiful. The views, the buildings. The best part is the busking. You'll find a lot of street performers. You all should definitely try that," I advised. "Hobi will love it there. All the pictures he can take. The food is delicious too."
"You really love traveling, don't you?" Taehyung asked as we sipped our hot chocolate on the balcony. I nodded. "Even though I'm lazy, going to different places, learning, living, and exploring make me feel like I've accomplished something. It might not seem like a big achievement to some, but for me, it's more than just money or awards. Meeting new people, capturing memories, and seeing history through buildings— it's all so beautiful."
"Will you ever settle for a normal life?" he asked.
"Maybe. I'd want to take my kids to different places during their vacations. I'd like them to see and appreciate what I've seen. I wouldn't force them to move around, though. I'd settle down for a few years while they're growing up and become a normal photographer after that," I answered.
"Do you think we will ever settle?" he asked with a hint of insecurity in his voice. I held his hand and turned to face him. "Taehyung, life is really easy-going. We complicate it. Yes, it brings problems, but isn't that just a form of training? You pass one challenge, and another comes. It's like your life before debuting. You trained hard, and now you're living your dream." I smiled as he looked down.
"People have a terrible habit of bringing others down. It's a horrible trait. Those who do it are pathetic and jealous. But you're the opposite, Taehyung. You live and love. I admire that about you. You don't need validation from people who don't know you. Just be happy within yourself and with the people who love you." He looked at me with teary eyes. "Aw, my poor baby, come here," I said in English, wrapping him in a hug. He sniffled a bit and then calmed down, staying in my embrace for a while before pulling back.
"Thank you, Noona," he said with his pretty boxy smile.
"Never let that beautiful smile fade, okay? I'll always be here for you," I said, smiling and kissing his cheek. We then turned back to enjoy the view together.
