The next morning, both Jamie and Henry had work. Jamie had dropped Henry at Dunkin Donuts where he worked before heading off to the children's hospital he worked.
A few weeks after Henry and Jamie had been engaged, Jamie told Henry he didn't need to work; Jamie earned a good enough paycheck to pay for both of their needs. But Henry wanted to work on his own, more specifically, on himself.
Before meeting Jamie, Henry had dealt with a lot of depression and he was constantly stuck in the mindset that "every day is the same; boring." So, Jamie came into his life one day while working at Dunkin, and used a very lame, yet cheesy pick-up like that was right up to Henry's alley. And the rest of the story you know.
Henry greeted Lia from the entrance before heading to the back where he met Harry, their cook/baker. "How're you, Harry?" Henry asked as he dropped his phone on the back counter along with his notepad.
As usual, Harry shrugged; he never really was much of a talker. Still, Henry and sometimes, Lia would attempt at conversation with him.
"Well, I'm taking Lia out for dinner with Jamie and Oliver, wanna come with?" Henry said, still attempting for a direct answer. It was like a game between the three of them; who can make Harry say the most words for that day.
Harry settled for a head shake. "No, thank you though."
Oliver was Lia's current boyfriend. Current because the poor woman had an awful history of toxic relationships. Her first boyfriend was Dillan, Lia's baby daddy. Dillan wasn't all bad at first, in fact, they could have been true love but, after Lia told him she was pregnant, he took off. Then, a few months later, she had met Julian. He had previously gotten out of prison for theft but Lia had seen the good in him and allowed him to get a fresh start at the Dunkin Donuts she worked at. When Lia was almost six months pregnant, she found out he had been taking money from the drawer every night.
Two years later, and with twin boys, Kody and Killian, she had met Oliver. So, fingers crossed that she and Oliver had a good relationship.
Yes! That's one... four for me! Top that, Lia! Henry grinned at his thoughts before grabbing his apron from the hook beside Harry and took off to the front.
He caught Lia's gaze for a moment as she was counting change from the drawer. Smirking, Henry mouthed the word 'four', watching Lia frown and her eyes blaze with determination. Lia hadn't won their little game since Henry's wedding; which Harry was of course invited to.

Later that evening, Henry and Jamie sat with Oliver and Lia. Oliver was a dark-skinned bulky man who had a tough exterior but childish aspect to him, Henry learned; and something he had in common with him (the childish aspect, not the tough exterior; Jamie says he's like a marshmallow sometimes).
"So, where are the boys?" Jamie questioned before taking a bite of Henry's salad. Henry pouted up at him, but let it go after he got a kiss on the head and some of Jamie's potato.
Lia hummed, taking a bite of her pasta before answering. "I managed to get Harry to babysit instead. Now you're here with us and not them."
"Well, you know I love your boys." Henry reminded her. "Just not..."
"All of the time?" Oliver finished for him, grinning slightly. Lia, Henry, and Oliver erupted in laughter. Jamie however, couldn't bring himself to. He had a strange feeling...
He turned around, looking for someone. Everyone at the restaurant was either with their significant other, friend, sibling by the looks of it. So why did he feel like he was being watched?

Hey everyone! I wanted to tell you that I am sincerely sorry for the lack of updates lately. School started up last week so I had to deal with all of that but, not only that, but my phone broke! So I've been using my laptop for writing which is a lot slower and not as reliable, so if there are any mistakes, don't be afraid to tell me! I tried going through it to fix the spelling errors but if you see one or many, please do tell me!
Other than that, have a good day!
