Maddie sighed as she dropped the heavy moving box onto the floor.
"Its going to take forever to unpack." She sighed again and fell back onto her bed. She stared at the ceiling while thinking about her old friends. She sat up and looked around.
"I wonder how Rose is doing.." She got up and walked out of her room. She walked down the creaky hallway to her oldest sisters room. She opened to door to see Rose asleep on her bed.
"Ugh. Damnit Rose." Maddie turned around and left.
"Maddie come help with lunch please!" Her father called from the bottom of the stairs. Maddie walked down the stairs and then into the kitchen.
"What should I do?" Maddie asked
"Make some sandwiches. Don't forget, no meat on Hazel's sandwich and no mayo on the twins'."
"Got it dad." Maddie took out the food from the grocery bags and started assembling the sandwiches. "Dad wheres Issac? Should he be doing this?"
"He's unpacking and Oliver is exploring the yard."
"Oh." Maddie finished the last sandwich. "I'll get everyone." Maddie walked out of the kitchen and yelled "COME GET LUNCH OR YOU AREN'T EATING!!" A sudden abundance of rushes steps was heard from all around the house as the kids opened doors and rushed down the stairs. Maddie went outside to find Oliver so he wouldn't miss lunch. She walked to the back door and opened it. "Oliver! Come get lunch!" She waited for a moment to call again. "Oliver?!" Suddenly Maddie heard leaves crunching. Oliver ran out of the bushes in his wolf form. He stopped in front of Maddie and transformed back.
"Whats for lunch?" Oliver asked as he walked past Maddie into the house.
"Sandwiches." Maddie followed Oliver inside. "Did you see anything cool in the yard?"
"Not really. I saw a deer though." Oliver answered.
"Thats cool I guess." They got into the dining room where everyone was already eating their sandwiches. Rose saw Oliver and patted the empty seat next to her.
"Oliver I saved you a seat."
"Thanks." Oliver sat down and started to devour his sandwich.
Maddie sat down next to Luna, the youngest.
"Do you guys want to go for a run tonight?" Maddie asked
"I will." Rose responded, her mouth full of food.
"I want to explore the town in wolf form."
"Thats a good idea." Oliver added.
"I know." Maddie answered. "Dad, when will we get to meet the other werewolves in town?"
"Tomorrow, I'm going to have a party so we can all talk and meet one another."
"Oh okay." Maddie finished her food and took a sip of water. "I'm going to unpack some more." Maddie went up to her room and closed the door. She grabbed her phone out of her backpack. "Damnit. I need the wifi password." Maddie sighed and set her phone down. "I'll do it later." She laid in her bed for a moment thinking of things she could do to pass the time. "I'll just go on a run now, theres no point in waiting." Maddie went downstairs to the back door. The yard was big and had a gate that lead directly into the woods. If she went down the mountain far enough she'd get to town. She ran into the yard transforming as she ran. She jumped right over the fence and started running down the mountain. She could feel the wind rushing past her face as she ran. She got close enough to see the town. She slowed down and walked into the forest more so she wouldn't be spotted by anyone. She stopped to look around and heard a snap. She looked behind her to see a gorgeous wolf with black fur observing her from behind a tree. When Maddie stepped closer the wolf turned and ran into the deepest part of the woods. That was strange.. Maddie thought. She was a little spooked and decided to just head home. She didn't need to explore today..
