~3 months later~
I woke up it was to the smell of deer meat been cooked, Leviathan wasn't sleeping with his head on my lap anymore and Lurking Death was missing. Putting two pieces together I could guess that she had gone out and hunted meat for us to have, with my new alien dog watching her every move.
Rubbing a hand over my stomach I smile softly since I tell I have grown bigger, I was coming up for the end of my 4th month been pregnant. Every day now I grew only slightly bit more tired, sometimes when I'm lucky I catch the feeling of my little one kicking. If I were in a normal situation I would have already have known the gender by now.
DUe to my growth in size around my midsection I had to create larger clothes for myself but also with winter coming up very quickly and soon, I had to switch from light clothes to heavier, warmer clothes...I'm scared for what will happen during the winter because I calculated that almost all creatures will go into hibernation leaving only a handful left and those were the predators, who would be starving.
Not to mention I now have a massive alien dog AND a huge ass female yautja who both need meat to survive, even though Death has told me she can eat berries but they weren't enough for her.
I remember the first few weeks of been here with her, were of her just watching my every move as if I would just suddenly break. I could handle the watching but when she started telling me to sit and let her do everything, that pissed me off and that was when I learned some yautja culture. Turns out the hybrid human and yautja children are very rare to find and most of the time when they are found, they normally die upon birth.
I also learned that if you have given birth or die giving birth, you are given the same amount of honor as if you pass your Chiva, which actually sounded pretty cool, not the death part though. Anyway, over the past few months, I would say I have grown close to Lurking Death, close enough to see her as like a best friend. Though we haven't talked about our past or ourselves, I find that it is easy to relax around her.
Looking back now I'm actually surprised by this because...
(3 months ago, the day after Amari found Death)
Amari: "You wanted to talk about the agreement right, ah the debt thingy"Amari rubbed her neck curiously, still feeling a bit bad for making her owe her a life debt.
Death: "Yes, I can only guess that you don't have any idea on what a life debt is"Amari could feel Death's intense stare on her as she looks away nodding.
Amari: "Yah, I am a bit curious but I can guess that it means, you serve me until the day I die...wait to serve is the wrong word, I meant to protect me, sorry" She turns to face Death again, a kind smile on her face.
Death: "Serve and protect are both the right words, due to the debt, I must lay my life on the line to protect you, I will follow your every order unless I find that it will lead to you getting harmed by something or someone, in other words, you hold my life in your hands-" Death suddenly stops when she seems the shock and horror coming from Amari who stares at her with wide eyes.
Amari: "OK ... OK first off, i...if this is gonna happen then I don't want you watching me like a hawk or coming at my beck and call, hell I would be happy if you just did whatever you wanted to do around here, I won't- no I don't like keeping anything or anyone that has sentient thought, prisoner, ok? " Amari held out her hand to Death as she stands up from her sitting place on her bed.
Amari: I would rather see you as a friend, than some servant or guard...
I remember the look of surprise on Death's face afterward and the awkward silence we had until she suddenly got up and left. She had returned later with a deer for our lunch/dinner and that was the time she saw all her broken armor in the corner, she seemed even more grateful that I hadn't touched it yet. She actually managed to fix her face mask 3 days later and was quite shocked to see I was pregnant, she couldn't tell me the gender because her mask wasn't fully fixed/functioning.
