Freezing Flames

Freezing cold

Kazuya's pov

"Wow Todoroki," one of the sidekicks commented as we all made our way out of the building that evening. "I was honestly expecting your brother to come out in first place after that amazing display of power. If only he didn't hesitate in the last match."

"Shut up!" I snapped. "That was the first time he used his flames in ten years, it'll take a while for him to get used to it."

"Okay! Calm down." Another sidekick said. "You may only work in the office but goodness knows I don't wanna get on your bad side."

"Sorry," I said quietly. The truth was, even I was little upset over the fact  that Shoto was still uncertain about what his left side meant to him. I hoped things would be cleared up soon.

"Hey no worries." The sidekick said,    "The bottom line is, he made a good first impression in his first two matches. I'm sure there will be many agencies lining up for offering him internships."

"I just hope he doesn't choose Endeavour's agency." I said.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask you Todoroki," one of the sidekicks said, "Endeavour's your old man isn't he? Why didn't you work as an office sidekick at his agency?"

"Please," I mumbled softly "As if I'd ever work for that abuser!"

"What was that?" He asked.

"I mean, just because you're born into a hero family doesn't mean you have to specifically work under that hero." I said quickly.

"That makes sense." He said, "Speaking of which, I heard Hawks had got a thing for that sister of yours. I gotta say, with the crazy number of fangirls he's got, she's one lucky girl."

"If you ask me," I said stiffly. "He'll be the lucky one if she actually says yes.

"I doubt she can say no. Hawks has got a special charm that makes it impossible for a girl to say no to him."

"Well, I'll see about that. Anyways I'd better get going." I said waving goodbye, making my way to the nearest bus stop.

The air was getting a little cold. Usually it wouldn't really affect someone too much. But my case was different. Unlike my siblings, I didn't possess a resistance to freezing cold. Luckily, it wasn't too cold for my quirk to go haywire, but I still shivered as I ran.

I almost didn't notice I was running right into a figure wearing a black hoody. I clashed right into him, knocking him flat. Before I could get a glimpse of his face properly, he pulled his hood tightly over his face and ran off.

"Uh... I'm sorry?" I mumbled slowly. The only thing I caught a glimpse of were staples on his face, for keeping a few portions of his burnt skin intact.

I could feel my body getting colder, I had to get back home quickly to warm up. I quickly boarded the bus and set off.

No one's pov

Unbeknownst to Kazuya, the figure she had bumped into happened to be watching her from an ally way.

"Little sis," he said calmly as he saw the bus drive off. " You never really were strong with cold. But don't worry. You're not alone."
