To Kazuya and Fuyumi's shock, Shoto had decided to go and visit their mother in the hospital. She didn't predict that using his fire would lead to him seeing mom.

Their mother had been put in a hospital after she had poured boiling water on Shoto's left side, calling it unbearable. She had accidentally seen it as Endeavour's face.

Ever since that incident, Shoto had always avoided visiting their mother as he feared that the sight of him would frighten her.

Even though Kazuya couldn't reject the fact that their family was changing for the better, she still felt nothing but pure hatred towards Endeavour. He was the reason their family had broken up in the first place. By seeing his children as nothing but failures and the fifth child as a masterpiece, he had made them feel like they had no other reason to have been born.

He never acknowledged them at all and never wanted to be a part of their lives. Kazuya doubted whether Enji even knew of the fact that along with her quirk came unbearable pain that nobody could understand.

Whenever she used her quirk, it covered her body in frost from the outside and inside and resulted in a throbbing pain in her head like someone was whacking a hammer from the inside of her skull.

But even then, whenever any nomu's were to attack, senpai told her that she'd be perfect for the job of apprehending them.

As she went through a few documents she found out that Hawks had decided to give an internship to UA's student Tokoyami.

She went to Hawks and asked,

"I see that you have agreed to take on interns after all."

Hawks grinned and said,

"Well, we're birds of a feather."

She frowned.

"Please tell me that's a joke. That can't be the reason why you are taking him in."

"Nope! I'm twenty percent serious." He said laughing.

Kazuya sighed. This was the first time he was taking in an intern. She only hoped he had a good reason for it. If not, then she felt sorry for the young student.She  made her way back to her desk and kept working to take her mind off the cold feeling that was spreading through her body. And the throbbing pain in her forehead.

Time Skip

When Kazuya saw Tokoyami on the first day of student internships, she warmly greeted him into the office.

"I highly respect Hawks senpai for taking me in." He said. "I wasn't satisfied with my performance at the sports festival. Third place or not, I still have a long way to go."

Kazuya found it a bit funny how a first year student could speak so boldly and professionally. Still she didn't laugh. Instead she said,

"If you must know, you are the first student intern senpai has agreed to take in."

"Well then, that indicates that I must do my best to not let him down Todoroki senpai."He said.

Kazuya's eyes widened. She smiled. She was impressed by the boy's optimism.

"Senpai's office is at the top floor. Would you like me to accompany you?" She asked.

"Thank you for offering senpai, but I'll manage by myself." He said kindly.

Kazuya smiled and gestured him to the elevator. Tokoyami bowed his head in gratitude and walked past her.

Seeing the student enter the elevator, Kazuya sighed and thought to herself.
