Kidnapped by a Prince

Chapter 8

--King Arson's POV--

"Wha-- what?" He wasn't suppose to know about this until tomorrow morning.

"Dad what the heck?!" He looks annoyed and more than angry.

"Xander let me explain," I beg.

"No there's nothing to explain. You brought a girl here against her will. You can't do that!" He bellows. His face is growing redder by the minute.

"Xander, as prince if you want something, you have to learn to take it," I say.

"She's a person, not an object. I cannot simply own her," he says flabbergasted.

"Well actually, you do own her," I shrug casually.

With that, my son storms out of the room. I smirk before calling out, "Was it something I said?"

--Xander's POV--

Man was he full of it. I stormed out of the room and began to search for Melody.

I walked the endless corridors until I finally heard running water. I began to drift towards the sound of splashing and laughter.

Knocking once, twice, Marie finally opens the door.

"Hello young master," she says with a bow of her head. "Can I help you?" she asks.

"Is miss Melody in here," I ask not daring to peek in.

"Yes but she is bathing so I will ring you when she is finished and in her room," The girl says.

"Okay thank you. Goodnight Marie," I give her a smile before walking back down the hall towards my own room.

I lie on my bed for half an hour reading when Marie finally rings. I quickly drops my book and make my way to the spare room next to the bathroom they were using. I wasn't sure where she was staying but that's where Marie rang me from. I knocked and waited. Finally Marie once again opens the door.

"Hello Prince Xander," she says with a curtsy. "Would you like to see Miss Melody now?"

"Yes please. Would you mind if I asked for some privacy?" I questioned.

"Oh of course not. I'll be right out," she rushes past me out of the room.

"Yeah so much for loyalty," I hear a disgruntled girl mumble from the bed.

I look up and meet her beautiful blue eyes. We hold our gaze until she looks away.

"Hey Mr. Prince," she says in a snarky tone.

She obviously not in the mood for a friendly talk so I decide to get right to it. "Melody, I'm sorry about all this," I say sincerely.

"Mhm right," yeah I don't think she believe me...

"Melody," I whine. "I didn't even know he was going to do this. I promise you I'll try to get you back as soon as I can, but since my father made the request I'm going to have to battle it out with him."

She looks up at me and her expression softens. "Okay."

I feel a smile creeping on to my face. Maybe we can be friends after all.

"This doesn't make us friends," well okay then.

"I hope one day we can put all this behind us because you are truly amazing. I guess I'll be seeing you around," I say with a sad smile.

"Yeah, see you around royal pain in my ass," she says with a smirk.

I chuckle at the endearing nickname. "How flattering," I say with a genuine smile on my face. What can I say? Girl's got guts. With that I walk out shutting the door behind me.

I know it's a filler and all but it kinda shows the mindset of Arson as opposed to Xander. I dunno just thought I'd give you an update since I have been an inactive little shįt. Sorry bout that btw.
