"Okay, so the 'how' works. Now we gotta figure out the when and the where. Almost all of us has had an encounter with at least one of the six Infinity Stones." Steve says, standing out the front of the room.
"Well I'd substitute the word encounter for damn well near been killed by one of the six Infinity Stones." Tony replies sarcastically.
Scott speaks up. "I haven't, I don't even know what the hell you're all talking about."
"Regardless, we only have enough Pym Particles for one round trip each, and these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history." Bruce says.
"Our history. So, not a lot of convenient spots to just drop in." Tony butts in.
Clint leans forward. "Which means we have to pick our targets."
You nod in agreement. "Guys, we got our own Sherlock and Watson." Despite being millions of years old, you were very well educated.
"I'm fine with that." Tony grins. "But I dibs Sherlock."
Clint looks offended. "Hey!"
"Let's start with the Aether. Thor, what do you know?" Steve asked, steering the team back on track.
You hop up on the table, legs crossed, zoning out of the conversation and think out the warning your siblings gave you.
"...Y/n, hey, Y/n!" Tony snapped his fingers in front of your face, and your glared at him.
"What do you want, Watson."
Tony pretended to be shocked. "You're gonna break my heart."
"Oh I wouldn't do that. Your heart is under enough pressure as it is. I'll break your arc reactor instead." You stuck your tongue out at him.
"Rude. Anyway, Spangles was saying that it's down to five space rocks, since we already got the power stone.
You swung your legs off the edge of the table and shook your head firmly. "No. The future stones won't work with the past stones."
"And how do you know that, glow-worm?"
"Because, Tin-Man, I'm a Watcher. It's my job to know everything about them."
"Fine, reset the drawing board, 'cause it's six stones again. Yay." Tony rolled his eyes.
Rocket hopped up onto the table and started pacing. "Quill said he stole the Power Stone from Morag."
"Is that a person?" Scott asked
"Morag's a planet, Quills a person, dumbass." You laugh.
Scott still looked confused. "A planet? Like in outer space?"
"Oh, look. It's like a little puppy, all happy and everything." Rocket adopted a super annoying voice. "Do you wanna go to space? You wanna go to space, puppy? I'll get you to space."
"No, that's not what I meant, like, there's other stuff out there?"
"Oh my god, we are doomed." You dropped you head into your hands.

"Thanos found the Soul Stone on Vormir." Nebula said from the corner of the room.
Nat writes it down. "What is Vormir?"
"Vormir is a remote, barren planet at the very center of Celestial existence within the universe. It's like a wasteland. Not plants. No trees. It's were things go to die." You say nonchalantly as you munch your granola bar.
Nebula looks sad. "It's also where... Thanos murdered my sister."
"What?" You spat out your food. "He actually did it himself?!?"
The blue android nods sadly.
"Huh," You mutter, "I wonder..."
"What was that, Y/n? Is there something we should know?" Nat set down her pen.
You nodded. "Yeah, yeah there is. When I placed each of the stones, the defences my siblings had set as a sort of default setting created a layer of protection around each one, something that would either hide them or make the searcher rethink their life choices. It clearly didn't work on Thanos."
"And what are these defences?" Steve questioned.
"I dunno." You shrugged. "Some are obvious, like how the mind stone was in Loki's sceptre to hide and protect it, and the space stone was in the tesseract for the same reason."
Clint nods. "We'll keep that in mind then."

Floating around near the roof, you look down at Nat and Tony, who are lying on the table, and Bruce, who's lying on the floor.
"That Time Stone guy..." Nat begins.
"Doctor Strange." Bruce confirms.
You nod. "Wobbly hand man."
"Yeah, what kind of doctor was he?" Nat asks.
Tony rolls his eyes. "Ear-nose-throat meets rabbit from a hat."
"Nice place in the village, though." Bruce says from the floor.
"Yeah. Sullivan Street." Tony agrees.
Bruce lifts his head off the floor. "Hmm... Bleecker."
You and Nat seem to come to the same conclusion.
"Wait, he lived in New York?" She asks excitedly.
Tony sighs. "No. He lived in Toronto. Were you even paying attention?"
"Nat, remember what I said about playing the cards right? Yeah, well, lay down your hand, because pick the right year..."
The red-head sits up suddenly. "There are three stones in New York."
"Bingo," You say, and snap your fingers.
Bruce sits up too. "Shut the front door."
~~~~
"Ok, we've got the years we're going back to. Now, teams." Steve draws three circles on the white board. "Team one, Asgard."
Thor raises his hand. "That is my home, I must go."
Nobody argues.
"I guess I'll go too, someone's gotta keep his head level." Rocket stands in his chair.
Steve writes down their names in circle one. "Alright, Team two, New York."
"Bruce, you're on magician duty." Tony says. "Cap, Lang and I will go for the other two. I've got a plan of action for this one."
Steve nods. "Team three, space. That will be the rest of us. Nebula and Rhodey to Morag, and Nat, Clint and Y/n to Vormir. We all on the same page?"
You sigh, standing up and shaking your head. "I can't go back."
"What do you mean, Y/n?" Clint asks.
Quickly explaining what your siblings told you, you avoid eye contact and stare at the floor.
It was silent for a moment, until Rhodey raised his hand.
"Um, am I the only person that didn't understand that?"
Scott nods. "I don't get it either."
You sigh. "Fine, I'll explain in moron terms. I go back, and old me's magic don't like that, so our magic does an epic fight to the death, except you can't see it. Either way I'm stuck there. Can't come back to the future."
It was quiet again.
"I guess you'll stay behind then." Tony shrugs.
Steve rubs your name out from the whiteboard. "All right. We have a plan. Six Stones, three teams. One shot."
