12th July 1924.Many fighters had lost their lives for their beloved country which was under British rule for many many years. On that day, humanity died. The revolutionists were fighting bravely against those ruthless Britishers. On that day, they swore either to return back to freedom with joy or to fight until the bitter end. In the pool of blood, many martyrs lay on the ground. Even though many of them were injured, they did not give up.
Among them stood the Gold medalist, Barrister Anirudh Roy Choudhary, who was helping those revolutionists who were injured. He himself got many bruises and deep cut marks that were bleeding continuously. His clothes were full of dust and blood which he got while helping them.
As a British officer was about to shoot the revolutionist, Anirudh saw him pull back and he was injured as the bullet penetrated his left arm. The blood started oozing out from his arm but still he didn't stop.
Aye meri zameen afsoss nahi
Jo tere liye sau dard sahe
Mehfooz rahe teri aan sada
Chaahe jaan meri yeh rahe na raheAye meri zameen mehboob meri
Meri nass nass mein tera ishq bahe
Pheeka na pade kabhi rang tera
Jismon se nikal ke khoon kahe
On the other hand, Bondita was praying for his well-being. Even though Anirudh didn't let anyone know where he was, she was well aware of his location. In her room, she was pacing back and forth as she was extremely worried about him. Finally, she lost patience and began looking for Anirudh, not before handing her one-year-old daughter over to Koyeli until she returned.
Bondita began to search for him everywhere. The sight in front horrified her. The fire destroyed all the houses and trees. People ran to save their lives. Many dead bodies were lying on the road. Bondita helped the old woman who was asking for water. That's when she spotted Anirudh, all injured. Anirudh's eyes met with hers.
In all these attacks, he feared that she might lose her life. He was about to talk to her and bombard her with questions when he heard a sound.
O Heer meri tu hansti rahe
Teri aankh ghadi bhar nam na ho
Main marta tha jis mukhde pe
Kabhi uska ujaala kam na ho
SHOT!!
The bullet penetrated through her chest and blood started to ooze out. She smiled and fell to the ground. Anirudh ran towards her and kept her head on his lap. Tears were flowing from his eyes which contained immense love and care for her. He picked her up when again he heard a sound.
SHOT!!
He felt pain in his back and he fell down along with Bondita. They both looked at each other and closed their eyes forever. They sacrificed their lives for their beloved country.
Teri mitti mein mill jawaan
Gul banke main khill jawaan
Itni si hai dil ki aarzoo
Teri nadiyon mein beh jawaan
Teri kheton mein lehrawaan
Itni si hai dil ki aarzoo__________________________________
15th August 1947.
After many years, India gained its freedom and the national anthem was sung with patriotism, pride, and joy by everyone. The British left India along with the freedom they had snatched two centuries ago. Gold medalist Anaya Roy Choudhary stood among them with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face. She looked at the sky and said
We won Baba! We won Maa! Your dream finally came true!!
