awsten knight had a crush on geoff wigington.

at least, that's the conclusion awsten came to before overthinking throughout the night. what other explanation could there have been?

"awsten, hey! excited for the p—"

"otto, i need to talk to you," awsten said quickly before grabbing otto's wrist and dragging him to a nearby bathroom.

awsten rushed otto inside and looked to make sure no one else was in the bathroom.

"woah, everything okay?" otto asked, very concerned about his friend. awsten swallowed and nodded before looking around again and letting out a breath he didn't know he was keeping in. "what's up? you really don't look too good. did you sleep at all last night?" awsten shook his head. "dude, what's bothering you? you know you can tell me anything."

awsten took in a deep breath.

"i like geoff."

otto's eyes widened. "hold on, do you, like, like like geoff?" he asked. awsten nodded his head and squeezed his eyes shut. "why? wait, how? doesn't he torment you on a daily basis?" otto asked. awsten nodded and sighed.

"look, i don't get it either, okay? it's just... yesterday, he kept, like, touching me and shit. like, he'd purposely press his arm against me and shit like that thinking it would annoy me, which, it did for a bit," awsten began.

"for a bit? wait, what happened then?"

"i... i don't know. he just— he grabbed onto my hand and wrote something down using the pencil in my hand thinking it would bug the shit out of me. it startled me, but, when he let go... it's like, i didn't want his hand to leave— and i was all flustered and shaky and got all nervous and—"

"hey, awsten, slow down. breathe in slowly then breathe out. it's gonna be okay." otto placed his hand on awsten's shoulder. the two remained quiet for a while.

the door opened.

"oh, what are you two doing in here all by yourselves?"

"go away, geoff."

"i don't really want him to go."

"why? is the blueberry upset?" geoff smirked. "god, you really can't say anything to this dumbass."

"geoff, get the fuck out right now," otto told geoff with a stern face.

"goddamn, alright, alright." geoff backed out of the bathroom, leaving the two boys alone once again.

"you didn't have to yell at him," awsten murmured.

"it'll be fine, awsten."

"geoff's going to the party."

"are you fucking kidding me?" awsten groaned.

"look, turns out word about it got around hella fast and now geoff's going. are you sure you still wanna go?" jack asked.

"i mean, it's not like you won't be able to avoid the guy, right?" otto whispered. awsten shrugged.

"i guess i'll go. besides, your parties go hard as fuck. how wouldn't word spread fast?" he told jack.

"alright, i guess. oh, and thanks for the compliment." jack grinned before walking away.

otto picked at his lunch as awsten stared off into space.

"awsten, you know you don't have to go, right?" otto asked. awsten sighed.
