"𝐌𝐒 snape!" her brother called out, causing her to turn around.
"i'll meet you lot in the common room," y/n told the group.
they nodded their heads in acknowledgment and bid goodbye to the girl.
y/n walked towards her brother whilst he did the same and they met in the middle.
"yes professor snape?" y/n scrunched up her face, "uck it sounds so odd."
"when we're in front of people we have to use formalities ms snape," severus smacked the back of her head.
"ow!" y/n rubbed the sore on her hair.
"come with me," snape started walking towards to his office, y/n following suit.
as soon as the pair got into the classroom, y/n quickly jumped into severus' arms.
severus returned the hug.
"i missed you y/n." the man let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"i did too sev but i only saw you yesterday," y/n shoved her brother lightly teasing him as the pair took a seat on the sofa in the professor's office.
"y/n. you were missing for 30 years."
y/n remembered the older snape's words from yesterday and her face fell.
"that night, you went missing. i didn't think that much of it when you didn't show up for breakfast the morning after. but i started to get suspicious when you missed lessons. father and mother made an official missing person report to the auror's office, they worked on your case for a while, then disclosed it as unsolved, saying it was like you vanished into thin air," a tear left his eye.
y/n took his hands into hers, sending a smile telling him it was okay to continue.
"i cried every night you went missing. i blamed myself for it all, how i should've made you go back to your dorm for being out late," sobs left the man's mouth.
"father and mother were furious with me. they too thought it was my fault. you were their precious child after all, and they absolutely hated me for being the reason for your disappearance. father he..." his breath hitched, "used the cruciatus curse on me. it hurt the first time, but after that, it felt numb, the pain in my heart after losing my little sister was nothing compared to it."
