Drowned

I quickly told Luka my semi plan and then gave him the snake miraculous. His suit had changed to protect him and he decided on Viper as his new name. His new outfit was the same colors, but this time, he had 'wings' stretching from his wrist to his hips. It looked like it would let him glide. He had a scaled pattern all along his suit, and his mask was basically the same, only it had the hood of a cobras head on the side of his mask, framing the sides of his face.
Honestly, his outfit was one of the best I had ever seen. He must have seen my expression because he looked in the mirror and mirrored (couldnt help it😜) my expression.
"Wow, I must say, I like this the best."
I hummed my agreement as I pulled another miraculous out of my yoyo.
"Tikki, Mullo, unify! Multitude!"
On each one of my split persons, I gave one of myself the fox, another the turtle, and then the bee. I was Multibug, Multibee, Multifox, and Multishell. (Boring, I know, but if you have any suggestions for different names, please tell me, i beg of you!)
"As Multifox and Multishell, I'll stay with you Viper. As Multibee, I'll stay hidden till i can paralyze her, and as Multi bug, I'll be attacking her.
                    ~Time Skip~
"No, no, no, no, no! This wasnt subposed to happen! How did this happen?! This is all my fault! I'm so sorry Viper!" I put my head in my hands as I thought about the situation we were in.
We were trapped in a room at the top of the hotel. Syren had flooded paris and killed almost all of the citizens. Any who survived on rooftops or boats were being lured out to thier death by Syren.
How we were here now is blurry to me, I dont remember much for a while, I have no idea for how long.
'God, this is all my fault.'
I must have said that out loud because Viper whipped his head towards me and basically growled, "Its not your fault Multibug. We've been in this room over three hundred times. I dont know how to get us out, neither do you. But we both know how to get you out." He stared at me, daring to deny it.
"No," I choked out. "I wont leave you. You cant ask me to do that." I shook my vehemently.
Viper looked at me with some form of broken hope in his eyes. "We've been fighting this akuma for over two weeks together. Thats not counting how long and how much time I've been through this with my second chance. We've tried every other way and it always ends up in the way! With us locked in this room and me resetting us at last second, right before the last of the air escapes! We both know what needs to be done to win, and it doesnt include me Marinette! I've gotten you this far, you need to go the rest the rest of the way by yourself. But you'll be fine, ok?"
"No Viper, I can't-"
"Longg-"
"Luka no, please-"
"Scales off."
A bright light flashed, and in place of Viper stood Luka, as a civilian.
Panicking, I screeched, "Why would you do that?!"
Luka grabbed my shoulders and shook me hard. "Calm down and detransform. We have about five minutes before you need to leave. Okay?"
I nodded as I detransformed. "Luka," I whispered brokenly. "If you stay here, you'll drown." He sighed heavily. "Yeah, I know. But I also know that this is the only chance we have at beating the akuma. From what you have told me, and what we've seen, all the other miraculous holders are dead. We also have to assume that Cat Noir is dead too, as he hasnt joined the fight."
As he spoke, a thin layer of water coated the floor, steadily getting thicker. I watched in horror, before looking up at Luka with tears in my eyes. He was looking at me with a sad expression, and that broke the dams. Waterfalls flowed from my eyes as I sobbed. Luka pulled me into his arms and cradeled me gently as I cried, my hands fisting his shirt.
We stayed that way till the water was at my knees. I pulled back from him sniffling. "I-I'm sorry Luka. That was selfish of me. Your the one who's going to be d-d-"
"Marinette, I alredy told you, its the only way. Besides, I'm at peace with it. But before its to late, take my miraculous. No matter what, we cant chance it that Hawkmoth gets any more miraculous. Okay?"
I nodded. "Yeah, ok."
I quickly transformed and put on the respective miraculous. Only this time I was also Multihiss. I climbed on Lukas shoulders as the water was already chest height.
"Alright, so remember, you need to climb throught the small opening and wait till the water level has risen enough for you to swim up and out, as its too big any other way. Do not, and I mean absolutely do not look down. Do you understand?" He asked in a firm and commanding voice. I nodded and he sighed. "I'm sorry, I just dont want you to see... Well, me."
Tears filled my eyes again which I quickly brushed away, and repeated the plan and all the information we knew.
Luka was treading water at that point, the top of his head inches away from the roof. He swam over to the small opening in the room, and I climbed onto his head and squeezed threw the crack. By the time all of me had squeezed through, Luka had his head tilted up, and maybe five inches of air left.
He smiled sadly as the last of the water filled the room, covering his face. I dont know how much time had passed, but Luka let out the breath he had been holding, the air bubbles slipping to the surface. Luka thrashed around for a few seconds before falling still.
I gritted my teeth before climbing out into the outer world, above the water, and onto the roof of the hotel. I took a deep breath, centering and calming myself.
"Syren, here I come."

Yay! Another chapter done. Sorry for the death scene, but worry not, for all will get better, after all, the Avengers havent been introduced.
