Prompt: Two distinct men never meet from their same first day of work until a cold, winter night during a Christmas party. Niall's bubbly and outgoing while Liam remains reserved and hardworking. Is that why they never got to meet each other until that night?

Niall was more than excited to clock in on his first day of work in the office. He traversed the compact aisles of an ordinary business environment, greeting whomever he laid his eyes on and earning a smile here and there with added replies. He loved people and couldn't wait to make new friends with people he'd vibe with.
Liam was reserved, quiet, yet one of the best employees anybody could ask for. This was also his first day on the job, and he didn't act the same as Niall.
He didn't know anybody except his boss and he'd keep it that way, especially when he'd go out for a smoke break. He just wanted to get his work done and get paid, then go home to make his precious art. Nobody would ruin that lifestyle and routine.
Niall worked on the other side of the floor from Liam, fingers trickling across his keyboard as he handled the organization aspect of the business.
He always had a keen eye for putting anything in order, regulating files, and setting up appointments for all types of engagements. His quick work gave him this job and he was excited.
Liam handled the coding and the whole aspect of the business itself in terms of marketing. He made sure to grab people's attention with his work and made sure the online aspects of the products would work to perfection.
He was always precise with his small projects on his laptop at home, always perfecting his products and running through them to catch any mistakes or bugs that may have slipped by. He was perfect.
The first few weeks of work flew by for them both, Liam finding comfort in his corner while Niall worked and mingled with nearby coworkers who found him interesting and bright in such a lukewarm environment. He made everybody happy.
Liam had his earbuds in every day, ignoring anybody but his boss when they'd walk up to him. He wanted to focus on his work and nothing, so he did anything to avoid all types of conversations with coworkers.
When he did speak, his voice was calm and professional towards his boss, never straying away from perfection. It threw a majority of the people off, but not Niall who didn't even know of him.
Neither man interacted with the other in any form for months on end of their hard and concentrated work. That was until the end of the year Christmas work party.
Niall showed up in a baby blue tux, fitted with sleek shoes and a pocketed handkerchief. He greeted his coworkers with smiles and handshakes, asking how everyone was feeling and if they were excited about the night's activities.
He never spotted this infamous Liam that his coworkers kept bringing up in every other conversation. They didn't know anything about him and neither did Niall who was curious to know who he was.
“Niall, hey!” Louis, one of Niall's closest friends at work, walked up to Niall with a bright grin. “So glad to see you make it. These parties are usually really fun, so you'll have a good time, no doubt.”
Niall grinned. “I'm sure I will! Are Zayn and Harry here?”
Louis nodded. “Yeah, in the back. They're already mingling with the others as we speak, talking about the future and even about the mysterious Liam.”
Niall chuckled, a small smile still on his face. “Yeah, he's quite an interesting person, even though nobody has had a good look or conversation with him. Maybe you'll have a better chance than us, tonight? We think we saw him around at some point. Hard to tell when we barely know what he looks like.”
