[182] Wingman [RQ]

Prompts: Liam helps a friend get with Niall who attracted the two of them immensely. Even though Liam likes Niall, he wants to help his friend and be happy. He isn't sure if his feelings would be given back to him in the first place, anyway.

Liam didn't expect to hear his door get knocked on and see it open on a chilly, winter evening, but he was met with Josh entering and closing the wooden door behind him in a rush. Liam frowned, setting his novel down on the bedside table to give his friend his complete attention for their incoming conversation.

“I have a huge favor to ask of you, and you don't have to help me, but it'd be really appreciated if this works out.” Josh had a serious tone of voice when speaking to his best friend, doing his best to remain calm as their eyes met.

Liam's brow had risen. “Is this about dinner last night? You said I could finish the Chinese food and it wouldn't be an issue. Unless it's about another time we shared dinner-”

“No, no! It's about...” Josh sighs. “It's about Niall.”

Liam's frown deepened while he sat up and crossed his arms in complete confusion. “Niall? We haven't been around him for about a week now. Do you just miss the lad?”

Josh grins a little and shakes his head while sitting down on the bed, getting close enough to Liam to whisper in his ear. “I've caught feelings for him... strong feelings.” Josh's grin widens incredibly, to the point of him clenching his fists with joy.

Liam squints at him. “You have feelings... for Niall? Where did they come from exactly? I always just saw you two as best buds, friends beyond anything else when it came to viewing your guy's relationship on and off stage.” He shrugs, wanting to remain honest with his over-joyous friend. “Besides that, what is the favor you want from me?”

Josh smirks. “I want you to be my wingman and bring me up in private conversations with Niall. Tell him how great I am and eventually that he should think about going out with me on a date. He trusts you, I know he does, so it'll be easier for me to have him as my boyfriend, which is what I desire most.”

Liam hums, smiling a little. “I'll help you, but you owe me three month's worth of Chinese food whenever I want it, deal?”

Josh nods quick and brings Liam into a gleeful hug that goes along with his happily beating heart that was overjoyed and ecstatic. “Take as long as you need to get this done. I'll wait forever if it means that I'll get to have Niall in my arms, kissing him until the moonlight shines upon us in our own bedroom... Ah, the fantasies that I've had with Niall have been so pleasing.” He makes eye contact with Liam again. “Would you like to hear a few of-”

“I'm good, spare the details. Let's get some rest, so I can start being your wingman tomorrow morning. Gotta start as soon as possible, so I can get some Chinese food.”

Josh chuckles then quickly leaves the bedroom in order to give Liam enough space to fall asleep and awaken the next morning.

When the sun did rise hours later, Liam received a text from Niall as if by chance. He read the short message with a smile, setting his phone back down in order to grab some clothing and enter the connected bathroom to shower and freshen up.

From Niall: Good morning! Hope you're ready for our monthly mall haul! I'll be at your place in about twenty. We can get food on the way, so don't worry about making breakfast. See you soon x

Liam already had a routine since he and Niall began this monthly expedition to the nearby mall for clothing and some time to spend together since they're busy with their own endeavors.
