Niall studies the cafeteria when sitting alongside his best friend of all time Liam Payne. They've known each other for over a decade but still find it difficult to tell the other certain secrets that have been eating away at them on the inside, at least in Liam's case. He hasn't told Niall a few tidbits of information which could really change their relationship, but he doesn't know when or how to do it since Niall is always busy with helping people and their own relationships.
Another day of this involves Niall looking around the cafeteria while Liam watches idly by in worry over disturbing people who appear as friends. “Do you think this is what your job is going to be?” Liam wanted to snap, but he couldn't at the young cupid who only desired to spread and give love to anybody who kept their own wants secret from the outside world and their crushes.
“Do you think Zayn and Harry have a little spark? I've noticed them hanging around more often during school and they seem to have a little sexual tension during gym class.” Niall purses his lips as he glances at Liam. “I mean, you aren't supposed to be that touchy when playing footie.”
Liam only shrugs. “I don't see anything wrong with it. They're just really serious when it comes to sports, nothing else about it.” He smiles a little. “One of these days, you are going to be wrong about your assumption and make people uncomfortable.”
Niall grins with his teeth shown brightly. “Oh c'mon.” He punches Liam's right shoulder lightly. “You've got to believe in me at all times or the effect won't work as well. Don't you want to see other people be happy with the ones they love?”
With a short exhale, Liam nods shortly. “I do, but it still feels like we're intruding into other people's lives. What would be worse is if you were to assume that I'd like someone. I don't want to admit my feelings for that someone just yet.”
Niall raises his brow to face Liam. “So, you are telling me that you do have someone on your mind? Is that it?” A freakishly adorable smile spreads across his face.
Liam shakes his head, becoming nervous. “N-No, I just wanted to... I-I wanted to be an example. I don't have feelings for anybody right now, p-promise.” He wants to stop feeling this pile of dread that is pooling over him but once Niall notices that Liam has been looking over at Louis the whole time, he can't help but remain defeated, even though he didn't like Louis in that way. He wanted to escape for the moment and regain his composure.
“Louis! No way, no way!” Niall gasps loudly and Liam couldn't help but slap his hand over the slightly frailer lad's mouth and get up close and personal with him to shut him up.
“Please, quiet down...” Liam bit his lower lip. “I don't want anybody else to know about my crushes, even when it comes to you. It's something I hold near and dear to my heart and when I want to tell the person I like that I have feelings for them...” Liam averts his eyes down to Niall's lips, when removing his hand, and back up to his gorgeously painted blue eyes. “I will.” Liam moves back and fixes his shirt and hair in the camera from his phone while Niall looks at him in complete awe.
“So it is him! That's so adorable. I need to figure out a way to get you two together alone, it'll be like a dream come true, helping my best friend get with his one true love!”
Liam forces a gentle smile and shakes his head, allowing Niall to burst into a fit of happiness for this moment while bringing him into a hug that keeps him warm and content. “I love you, Horan.”
