Chapter 29
Please do not read on random site.
Zodan's POV
It was never a hard decision.
Who I was and who I am were always different people. And no one will understand me not even Zelda no matter how much they try.
"Zodan...are you still thinking about what happened?" My stupid sister told me as she placed her hand on top of mine. We were both sitting under the full moon in the Lunar garden, on the first night we arrived at the Capital. It was funny how the reason we were even brought there was because our distant uncle was involved in an 'accident' so we took his place. I guess we're that disposable to the Empress.
The answer was evident. How could I forget, 'So annoying,' was my only thought at her pathetic attempt at comforting me. "The person responsible for our people's mascre is dead Zodan! Mother and father would have wanted us to move on and live an easier life, just forget it, okay,"
'Father would've wanted...'
My eyes slightly teared up at his rememberance, Zelda who was clearly hiding her grief pulled me in for a hug. "All I want is for us to be happy, don't do anything stupid now that we're here," she told me with a rough voice.
"Yeah... Me too, I promise Zelda to make sure that I do what father would've wanted me to," I whimpered as I held her tightly. I guess I had to fool her too, Zelda always had that niavety to her.
With a smile of relief she patted my head and wiped my tears "Thank you," She then stood up and walked away, back into the palace.
I wiped my crocodile tears and my face turned cold with bitterness.
"...he would've wanted me to take back what once was mine. And avenge him,"

Ophelia was thrown into a cell in the Royal dungeon. Her new dress ripped and rough as she sat with her hands bound behind her back with tight rope.'I've been framed...' she thought 'But who? The Emperor?' She tried to calculate but came to the conclusion 'It doesn't matter right now! They're going to kill me, humiliate me...'
"...The Empress...is..dead," she let out as the reality finally hit her and tears began to stream down her face. To her it suddenly didn't matter that she was framed, in that moment Ophelia's heart cried in dispear as she realised she would never see the kind Empress again.
The whole palace was evacuated as the royal police began to investigate and take in witnesses.
Gards had come in and collected Ophelia and bought her out to the place hall where the king and many of the artisocrates sat.
'What is this? An unofficial court hearing?'
"Princess Ophelia Celine. You have committed a grave crime. If you admit to your crime the Emperor has offered to save you from the charges of treason, and expel you from our nation on foot," said a courtsman.
All the nobles began talking amongst themselves confused towards the Emperor's intention.
Ophelia shook her head in disagreement. "But I didn't do it, there is no evidence that it is me? It's simply whoever's word against mine!"
"Oh but it isn't," laughed the Emperor.
'He can still make those faces after learning his wife just died!' she thought in disgust. "What?"
"Why did you get changed?" The Emperor asked boastingly.
Ophelia looked down at herself in realisation "Because a lady had spilt red wine onto me,"
"Oh really? Then why does your dress smell of blood? And many people at the ceremony recall you walking around the palace near the Empress headquarters after getting that stain," He said as they bought out the dress as evidence.
The Nobles gasping in suprise at the state of it.
I sighed and yelled "It's wine! Just smell it, blood has a distinct metallic odour if it was me you'd be able to smell it?!"
They bought up someone to confirm and it was blood. Ophelia's face showed confusion to that response then the Empress's maids were bought in by more gaurds.
The Emperor then announced "Now servants of the late Empress will testify, and reveal the murderous comments you have made towards her Majesty,"
Each one stood to the centre and spoke of separate occasions,"Firstly the young Lady dismissed the Empress once saying she was 'The future Empress' in front of her as if it was some threat?"
Ophelia rolled her eyes and said "That's not even evidence, I said that as a mistake and even so I am due to be the next Empress of this Empire since I'm the Crown Princess,"
"Fine," said the Emperor. "But do you have to say about this,"
"The Empress and princess were having a conversation and the Empress jokingly told her that she should stay healthy to overtake her, and the Lady maliciously replied with 'Oh I will' we all could sense the Lady's hostility,"
Everyone became to mutter to themselves evenmore. 'These simpletons, do they seriously think I could just walts in and become Empress on a whim if she died,'
"But that still isn't evidence, if you're trying to say that I planned on killing the Empress so I could take her place faster then that is nonsense! I would have to wait for Casper to become the Emperor regardless. So shouldn't these 'statements' be taken as normal conversation?"
The Emperor then took out his sword and pointed it towards Ophelia, "Isn't it obvious. You wished to take her spot beside me!"
Ophelia's eyes widened in surprise 'So this is why he isn't letting me stand trial. I still have no idea if he is behind this but I definitely know He wants to tarnish my reputation that I've built amongst the people and the Noble's especially the Empress's supporters...'
"You're father planned for you to be my Empress years ago. That King Herman disregarded the current Empress completely. He seemed slightly disappointed when I promised you to my son, and even you show distaste to a marriage with him،,"
'I never knew the Emperor could actually be smart,' "The truth is, your Highness, it is you that wished to be with me. Always threatening your son that you'd make me your concubine, calling me things like gorgeous and isn't saying that I'm a waste of a pretty face when seeing that I am going to be with your son implying it is you that wants me?" Ophelia calmly stated. " If you want to use manipulated conversations against me, shouldn't you be afraid for yourself? You, your Majesty, have said and done many things that prove you dislike the Empress and that she stands in the way of your political transgressions,"
All the Nobles began to show concern and anger directed at the Emperor, but he quickly nipped it and drew out his sword.
"If I wanted to kill the Empress I would've done it much more discreetly and sooner, I have never had the intention of killing her no matter how much I disliked her, I would never murder the mother of my children and leave them motherless! How dare you accuse me!" He furiously raged his sword scraping my neck.
"Remove her! She is an enemy of this Empire and is to be stripped of her title! Tomorrow at dawn she will be executed for committing high treason against her Majesty the Empress. You who was once a hero, will become a villan in this Nation,"
What do you think so far? How will Ophelia survive this
