"He lives for you"
______
Luna stood straight on her feet, towering over Draco's body, "I can't do more than that right now, he needs to rest.",
some tears fell off my drained cheeks and I watched as they fell onto his arm, soaking the white fabric of his shirt, "Can we bring him upstairs?", another quiet sob escaped my throat as I held his hand,
"I don't want him to wake up on the floor.", I muttered, and Luna hummed softly as if she hadn't just killed someone. I turned my head for a mere second to study the lifeless body next to me, his eyes were closed and wavy strands of hair covered half of his face.
It was ironic how the only time I saw something human in him was after his heart had stopped beating.
My insides twisted at the sight of him, because I knew that seconds later I would have been dead as well. If Luna hadn't been there at that exact moment, Draco and I both wouldn't have made it- without even getting to say goodbye.
We would've just ended right there, and our story would've forever been incomplete.
"Do you think you can lift his arms?", she whispered next to me as she grabbed his ankles, the fire was entirely burned up and I could barely see her face. I nodded quickly as I got up from my knees to wrap my fingers around his wrists,
the feeling of his pulse in the palm of my hands was relieving. He was alive- and the fact alone allowed me to finally breathe again.
Both our faces turned into grimaces as we lifted him carefully, "Fuck-", Luna grunted as we carried him through the door, "How is he so heavy?",
I breathed out a chuckle as we reached the stairs, and Luna sighed, "You have to go first, just drag him up the stairs.",
"Are you sure?", I hesitantly climbed the first step, "I don't wanna hurt him."
Luna lifted his legs further, and a tiny smile climbed her lips as she looked into my eyes, "He's gonna be fine, Liv-", her sight lowered the moment she noticed how concerned I was, "I promise."
I put all my strength into pulling him up, and after a few minutes we finally reached the top. Both of us were struggling for air as we dragged him down the corridor and to the bed, I sighed in relief when we let his body drop into the cold sheets.
By the look of it I realized how much fear Luna must have felt when she woke up from the things she heard downstairs, and how much courage she had for saving us.
She sat down on the edge of the mattress to push Draco's feet further onto the bed, "Thank you.", I breathed heavily and she looked at me with big eyes as I dragged the blanket over his shoulders,
"You wouldn't have been able to carry him alone, Liv-", she chuckled out,
"No-", I hushed her in a low tone, "For what you did earlier. For saving him.", she bit her lip in concern, letting her eyes travel through the empty room, "Always."
I felt my lips arch into a smile as she said that, and how she didn't hesitate to put her life at risk to save ours, "You know-", I heard her soft voice speaking, "I really enjoyed the last weeks we spent here, and I think it lead to something beautiful.",
a warm feeling spread in the cage of my chest, because I felt the exact same, "You are one of the best people I know, and I love to see the way you two are growing closer every day.",
"I was scared to death when I saw Sam-", her tone of voice changed slightly, "But he would've killed you. Even if Draco would've survived, he would've lost the person he certainly loves most in a world he hates.", my vision became blurry again as she spoke, it all just hurt,
