"D.M."_______
I ended up not sleeping at all before going to the great hall for breakfast. My legs were still shaking and I had several bruises on my whole body, but I I had never felt this energetic. I didn't expect it to be more than that, but I realized that my nightmares slowly faded away. I was finally able to rest at night, causing me to feel even better.
A few days after it happened, my friends seemed to notice that something was different. I kept looking for him no matter where I was and whenever I spotted his pale face in the crowds, he was already staring at me.
Nevertheless, we didn't speak for weeks. I started spending more time with Fred and George again, sometimes with Harry and Ginny in the Gryffindor common room- but no matter how much fun we had together, he was constantly stuck in my thoughts.
I spent nights thinking about all the things he said and did to me in the past and the fact that he was so distant made it even harder for me.
About two weeks later, I decided to spend some time in the library in order to study for a potions test. The second I arrived, my eyes wandered through the room automatically until they spotted him sitting alone on a big table.
He didn't look intimidating as usual- he seemed lonely.
"I got this." I mumbled under my breath, before walking over to him. I sat down in front of him, basically throwing my books on the desk causing him to look up. First, he looked angry and annoyed, but when our eyes met his expression turned soft again.
I slowly sat down while keeping eye contact, until he leaned back, let out a sigh and looked down at his book. He wasn't reading or writing, he was drawing.
I knew he was smart, but I didn't expect him to be creative as well.
"I didn't know you could draw.", I whispered quietly as he looked up again.
He lowered his pencil and looked at his sketchbook, "Sometimes."
From the front I could easily see that the book he was drawing in was nearly filled and I started wondering what else he kept in there. I raised my eyebrows at him, until both of us proceeded to do our thing.
I couldn't keep myself from watching him inbetween every sentence I was reading. I wasn't able to see any details because it was upside down, but the way he held the pencil made it look so easy.
After a while of watching him I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"What are you doing here Slytherin?", it was Fred and George standing next to me. Usually, I loved to see them, but not this time.
"You look lonely, love. Mind if we sit with you?", George asked flirtingly, well aware that Draco was able to hear every single word. I looked at both of them and then back at Draco, who didn't bother to look up from his sketchbook.
I let out a sigh, "Sure.". As they put their books on the desk George gave Draco a side-eye before turning to me, "You look good today, has something good happened lately?".
I couldn't help but smile at the fact that none of them had any idea of WHAT happened lately. I smiled down on my book before I gave Draco a tiny smirk. Our eyes met for a second, but then Fred grabbed my arm.
"Guess what Ron and Hermione did yesterday!", both looked at me with the biggest smiles on their faces, but I couldn't have cared any less.
"I don't know... tell me."
As they started to tell me the story in the tiniest details I wasn't able to hear a single word, because my thoughts were louder than their voices. All I could think about was him. Also I felt sorry, because I was the one interrupting his peace in the first place, and now he was forced to sit with the people he hated the most.
I looked at Fred and George the whole time, keeping a forced smile, pretending to listen. After a while of talking to them, I finally decided to turn around again just to notice that Draco was gone.
I closed my eyes and sighed in diappointment, before proceeding to chat with them. They informed me that there was a Gryffindor common room party a week after, and asked me if I wanted to go there.
Usually I would've told them that I don't know yet, but hell yes. I just felt good and I wanted to get drunk.
"Wicked", Fred turned to George and smiled at him, "I'll get some weed from Diggory and we'll have a great night". I started laughing and looked at George again, who winked at me, before standing up,
"Come on, let's go. It's lunch time and we are late."
I grabbed all my stuff and analysed every face in the library, hoping we would lock eyes one last time, but he was nowhere to be found. I turned around, but George's hand grabbed my arm
"I think you forgot something" with his face pointing at the table. There was a blank piece of paper left, but we weren't allowed to leave any of our stuff in the library, so I took it.
Fred and George walked straight out while I was looking at the paper. It looked like it was ripped out of a book.
When I turned it around my heart started racing - it was a beautiful drawing. As I looked at it closely I noticed that it looked like me. He had been drawing me the whole time and I didn't even notice.
It was the most beautiful piece of art I had ever seen and it had the power to make me feel truly beautiful for the first time in forever.
At the bottom right of the page there was a tiny signature "D.M."
I smiled to myself in disbelief, but I quickly slid it between the pages of my book when I heard George's voice behind me,
"Liv! Come on!"
My heart was still beating rapidly as we walked over to the great hall and I felt the biggest smile forming on my lips.
