sweet sixteen - a miraculous ladybug story.

Chapter Three - A Heartless Monster.

Marinette dropped the microphone from out of her hand and stood in utter shock and dismay as Lila walked through the door, in a stunning dress, and her arm in a huge bandage. Why was Lila in a bandage, god knows... but Marinette had the feeling that this was about to ruin her evening. 

Almost all the attention in the room went towards Lila, who appeared to be in a great amount of pain. "Good evening marine- OWW my arm!" Lila exclaimed with an almost sarcastic looking grin on her face, aimed directly at Marinette. Everyone ran over to Lila in shock, as Marinette's kareoke music faded into the backround, as the poor birthday girl stood in shock and silence, tears begining to roll down her face. She looked as if a huge arrow just plumeted right through her already aching heart. Alya turned to Luka and Adrien, who were just about to check up on Marinette. They knew that something was off with the way that Lila was acting, she was moving the said 'broken' arm religiously. "Guys!...We need to help Lila, c'mon!" Alya yelled, completley ignoring the fact that her bestfriend was stood totally frozen on stage with tears streaming down her face. Lila looked up at all of the distressed party-goers, whose full attention she had.          "Guys, me and Marinette had a little...disagreement before the party and- OWWW...she- well... lets just say she hurt my arm a little bit, and she said that I wasn't welcome at her party, and that she hated me..." Lila began to cry, not really, they were probably the most unrealistic crocodile tears that Luka had ever seen, Adrien also had his doubts. "Marinette, why would you do that to Miss Lila?...I know that you two have had your disputes, but there's really no need to break her arm!" Sabine yelled to her daughter. Marinette was as confused as anything. She hadn't done  such a thing! What the hell? All that she knew was that she wouldn't stand for it anymore. 

"What are you talking about? It's been 3 hours since the start of the party, and I haven't left the building!" Marinette was worried, nobody, not even her close family seemed convinced. One of her aunts scoffed, "Sabine, Tom, i'm shocked that you've managed to bring up such a vile young girl, zero morals, that girl has!"... This really ticked off Marinette, how dare she say that infront of her? She wasn't vile at all! To Marinette's suprise, some people started to nod and shake their heads, looking straight towards Marinette. "Im sorry, but I think that you're completely out of order there. Why don't we check camera footage or something, see what really happened? Because this Lila isn't the sweet and innocent girl you all think she is." Luka explained, this just made Lila cry even more. "Marinette destroyed the cameras, they're completely shattered on the floor outside!...Come have a look if you dont believe me.." Everyone followed Lila outside. Marinette stayed exactly where she was. Lila had done it again, ever since that day, where Marinette stood her ground with Lila... The girl had been intent on ruining her life, and she's finally done it.

 All her friends looked at her in dissapointment as a smashed up security camera was scooped up by Kim and dumped onto the hall floor. "You know what Marinette, im embarrased to call you my daughter." Tom stated with a stern, father-like frown printed across his face, arms crossed. That was it. Marinette's world had just crumbled right infront of her. All at the hands of Lila Rossi. Marinette ran into the girls toilets, head in her hands in shame. "Yea, go have some time out. I think you need it, you heartless monster." Another one of Marinette's relatives yelled. Luka turned to face everyone, with a disgusted look of anger printed across his face. Why would they do this to her? They were her family, her friends... Were they really that vunerable?... "Well, im going after her, as the only one who truly loves her. Just know that you'll all feel like a bunch of fools when the truth comes out..." Luka huffed. Adrien was considering going with Luka, he knew that Lila had a history of lying, and Marinette breaking somebody's arm was highly unlikely. "Im coming with you, Luka!...I believe that Marinette is innocent, and just know that i'll never. EVER. see you more than a liar, Lila." Adrien felt proud of himself for sticking up for his friend. Lila was obviously hurt by this statement, she felt like... in a way, her plan was to get Marinette away from Adrien, because she loved him. She didn't care for any of Marinette's loser friends, these weren't the people she wanted, she wanted Adrien!..

Marinette hated everyone. How dare they! How dare they believe Lila! She had been there for all of them through thick and thin, she had supported them when nobody else had the energy too. "Tikki, what the hell do I do?...Nobody believes me, I don't even want to be here anymore-" Adrien and Luka ran upstairs to the bathroom door, they ran into the girls toilets, freezing in their footsteps when they heard Marinette speaking to someone... "Who is she speaking too, they have quite a high pitched voice..." Adrien inquired. "Marinette, you're ladybug!...You have the power to expose the truth!..." Adrien and Luka looked at eachother in shock, well... it was pretty one-sided shock, as Luka already knew Marinette's identity from the events of Alec's akumatisation into Wishmaker. Adrien, however, was in complete shock. Marinette was his lady?...It was so obvious, how could he be so blind!... "There's no point of me even being here Tikki, Ladybug or not, I have no one. Im on pretty thin ice with my parents already, and the two boys I love have no interest in me!...I should just, leave." Tikki wasn't having this, and neither were Luka and Adrien, who started banging on the door to let them see her. Marinette ignored the boys, she was also completely oblivious to the fact that they both now knew her identity. "CMON HAWK MOTH! GIVE IT ALL YOU'VE GOT, NEGATIVE EMOTION RIGHT HERE!" Of course, Gabriel picked up on these negative emotions, it actually gave him a headache. Tikki flew out of the stall as the akuma landed in Marinette's bag. Tikki jumped as she saw the two boys leaning against the door. "Aren't you, ladybug's kwami?...Im Viperion, i know." Luka announced. Tikki shrieked in an array of panic. "She's being akumatised!...I don't know what to do!..and without her, because she's ladybug the akuma can't be purified!.." 

"so , we meet for the first time... dupain-cheng...Your own sweet sixteen ruined by the girl who's out to ruin you, how sad." Hawk Moth echoed. Luka, Tikki and Adrien fretted at her to resist. She wasn't listening. Revenge is all she wanted. 

"I can give you the power to expose people for who they really are, and show people that... behind the clumsy, weak, pathetic baker girl lies a strong, independent woman." Luka and Adrien had to resort to using a fire extinguisher to bash the cubicle door down, just to get to marinette. luka placed his hands on Marinette's shoulders, shaking them vigorously, telling her to snap out of it.

"I'm not weak." Marinette mumbled, a little pissed by Hawk Moths statement.                       "Exactly, just let me give you these powers, princess justice." Adrien shoved Luka out of the way and placed his hands on Marinette's cheek. "Marinette please dont listen to him!..."

"Join my side, princess justice, and mark your territory against these fake personas."

Marinette gave into Hawk Moths advances instantly, but she had one more thing to say before she was taken control of by the evil man. "I'm sorry. I love you both..." Luka and Adrien ran out of the stall, Adrien let Tikki hide in his pocket, and she flew in, shaking in fear that it was the end for her beloved guardian. Luka hesitated as he approached the door. He didn't want to leave her, because that's what the others did, and he isn't like the others. 

Just like that, Marinette transformed into Princess Justice. A villain who had the power to use hypnosis to make people voice their true intentions, motives and goals in life.
