I felt the train begin to slow beneath my feet. My heart started racing for a whole new reason. Im about to see Hogwarts! Nothing prepares you for the first time you lay eyes on Hogwarts. The stone castle perched on a cliff, overshadowing the black lake. The gardens surrounding the ancient stone. The sunset blaring beautiful shades of purples and pinks behind it. I felt my breath catch in throat.

"It's beautiful" I whisper, fully mesmerised

The whole scene infront of me could only be described as magical. I commit the site to memory, determined to sketch it and maybe even paint it later.

"C'mon, if we're lucky we'll get put in the same boat" Fred chuckles as he puts his robe back on

"Boat?" I ask dumbfounded

"It's a first year tradition. You'll see" George shrugs nonchalantly

Everyone began to file out of the train. I couldn't believe how many kids there were. Kids of all different ages and backgrounds huddled together on one platform. Right up the front is the biggest man I've ever seen. His massive frame was intimidating even from as far back as we were.

"Ello evry one. Im Hagrid, the grounds keeper 'ere at Hogwarts. Im 'ere to take you first years to the castle. So let's get you lot to the boats" he exclaims, clapping his hands together at the end

"Hes half giant" George whispers in my ear

"You can say that again" I mumble

We followed the crowd to a fleet of relatively rickety wooden boats. None of which had oars or really any way of steering them on board. I was hesitant to even get on one. How long have they been here? Are they enchanted? I'm not going to have to swim for it in the middle of the lake, am I?

"Groups of three per boat" Hagrid bellowed "an dont forget a lantern"

"Lucky we have a third, aye George?" Fred smirked

"I'll get the lantern Fred, you just make sure we don't lose her in the crowd" George grins

"Is that a short joke?" I ask, raising an eyebrow

"Maybe" They chuckle

George hurries off to get us a lantern while Fred and I slowly file towards the boats. Fairly often I would feel a shove as everyone excitedly made their way to a boat. I felt Fred pull me closer to him, trying to protect me from some of the shoving.

"Theyre bouncing you around. Wouldn't want you to look like a bruised peach" he says half seriously

"I'm pretty sure no one can see me" I say grimacing as I catch a rogue elbow I'm my ribs

The kid that elbowed me suddenly went flying as George shoved him out of the way. The kid called out in surprise but shut up pretty quickly once he was met with the twins death glares.

"Watch it ya git, you're pelting her with your elbow" George shouts

"I'm okay George. Really! It was just an accident" I step in, desperately trying to stop the escalation to a fight

Fred grabs Georges shoulder and helps me drag him to the boat without another incident. As we climbed in the boat rocked from side to side. Making my nerves a thousand times worse. George sat at the front with the lantern while Fred and I sat just behind him. I tucked myself in close to him, trying my best to ignore my stomach as the waves rocked us. Somehow the boats glided us across the lake without the need for us to do anything. It would have to be some sort of enchantment. All the boats followed loosely behind Hagrids. We glided through the night towards the castle.
