When Gianna Camazzola, better known by the mononym GIA, steps onto a red carpet, every camera knows to point her way. We got her to speak with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet and she opened up about her astronomical rise. Stay tuned to hear what she thinks will come next!
"It's so strange," the Canadian-born singer laughed. "I feel like it was just yesterday that I posted my first cover on YouTube, and now, I'm standing on the red carpet with Ryan Seacrest. Everything that has happened in the past year is just above and beyond my wildest imagination."
GIA first made it big after an original song she posted to YouTube went viral. Throughout her rise to the top, the artist has remained humble and connected to her roots. Her Instagram and Twitter pages are all but devoted to interacting with her fans (as well as the occasional thirst trap).
The singer-songwriter may only be 23, but her resume is stacked. With a Grammy win, 4 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and two chart-topping albums under her belt, everyone wants to know: what comes next?
"I want to collaborate with more 'social media' pop stars," Gia explained. "Because of how I got my start, I was ignored in the music industry for a long time. I want to help skirt the stigma of Hollywood standards and elevate the voices of smaller musicians."
The pop star just smiled when asked if she had any specific artists in mind.
"I guess you'll just have to wait and see."
