AFTER MUCH BACK AND FORTH between selfish record companies, overzealous lawyers, and angsty corporate greed, the GIA x Lovejoy collaboration was ago. As soon as she got the hint of a go-ahead, Gianna was on the next flight to Brighton, England.
There was no question in her mind about leaving Toronto behind for the next few months. As much as she loved her hometown, for the past year, her creative well was coming up dry. She needed a new city, a fresh start to create something worthy of her dedicated fans.
Though Brighton seemed to offer that opportunity, Gianna would be lying if she said that Wilbur wasn't a part of why she wanted to go. Their Twitter DMs quickly turned to daily text messages, which shifted into a nightly FaceTime call. They spoke about everything and nothing all at once: from Will's love of digital horror to the debate of whether Shakespeare wrote his own plays. But most of all, they spoke about how alone they both felt.
