Kiyotaka never usually spent birthdays with anyone other then his father.
Even just then, all his father would do was give him a birthday cake and the same thing every year, a book by his favorite author.
The boy never complained, he liked it that simple.
Until, he met Mondo.
Usually, the boy never mentioned that it was his birthday, because no one would ever care.
But somehow Mondo found out.
Maybe Taka accidentally slipped it up once and forget and Mondo remembered.
It shocked the boy on his 17th birthday.
Knock knock
Kiyotaka's father got up and went to the door.
"Hello?"
He asked, and saw a 6'1 biker at his door.
"Hey, it's you."
Takaaki already knew Mondo, even before him and Taka started getting along.
"Hey..mind letting me in?"
Mondo asked awkwardly, shifting a box in his hands.
"Oh, you're hear for my boy? Oh yeah sure get in."
The elder let him inside.
Mondo thanked him.
"He's upstairs, reading the book I got 'em."
The biker nodded at the man, then went upstairs.
He then knocked on Taka's door.
"Oh! Come in!"
He heard his friend answer.
He cleared his throat nervously, then hid the box behind his back.
"Hey man!"
Mondo said as he walked inside, voice cracking.
"Oh! Hello Mondo! I didn't know you would come over today-!"
The prefect closed his book at look at his friend.
"Yeah...it was meant to be a surprise.."
Mondo scratched the back of his neck, before handing the boy a box.
"Oh- what's this?"
Kiyotaka awkwardly grabbed it.
"H-happy birthday man."
Mondo muttered, sitting beside him.
"Hmpt-! How did you know-?!"
Taka was taken off guard.
"Eh, friend told me, wanted to get ya something special."
Taka opened the box roughly,
His breath hitched when he saw what it was.
"Thank..you..."
He murmured, he couldn't believe it.
It was that one calculator he mentioned MONTHS ago they he wanted but could never afford.
"Bro, this- this is well over-"
"Don't worry about experiences."
Mondo cut the boy off.
Taka looked at the gift in shock.
Sure, it was just a calculator, but it was more then that to the boys.
It was a gift.
A lovely gift.
"It's your birthday so, you deserve something nice!"
Mondo chuckled, patting him on the back.
"I-...thank you so much."
Kiyotaka could only thank the boy, nothing more.
"No problem, man."
The biker smiled.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"Oh, come in!"
Taka chimed, Mondo instinctively flinched away from the prefect.
"Hey, what you guys up to? It's been some time."
Takaaki mentioned.
"I thought you were maybe getting a really filling birthday gift."
The elder chuckled.
Kiyotaka groaned in embarrassment, Mondo laughed.
"Not until I get to know him better."
The biker joked.
"Dear god.."
The father laughed with Mondo, Kiyotaka over filling with embarrassment.
"I'll leave ya boys alone."
Takaaki said, closing the door after leaving.
"Would you like me to bounce so you could spend the day with your old man?"
Mondo asked.
"You..you can stay..."
Taka murmured.
"It is my birthday...it'd be great to have it with a friend."
The biker agreed with a nod.
"Ight! What first? We should do something!"
"Like what?"
"Ya got any movies?"
"Just child's ones from the 80's-90's."
"Oh sick! I dig with those."
The boys spent the rest of the afternoon watching old Disney movies in Kiyotaka's room.
"Heyyyyy baby."
A certain man hollered.
"It's 8 am, people are still sleeping."
Another lectured.
"But it's your day! Cmon, we gotta have fun!"
Mondo patted his boyfriend on the back.
"This don't high school anymore, we're grown adults."
Kiyotaka laughed.
"Oh shut up, we should do something for you. You deserve it!"
"Fine! What do you have planned?"
"Remember what we did the first time?"
"Love- those movies are DUST by now."
"Who cares! Boot em up! Fuxk it, I'll plug in the old TV."
Once more, the boys spent the rest of the day watching old Disney movies in the living room, just like the first time.
