what is feminism?

the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.

advocacy - means getting support from another person to help you express your views and wishes, and help you stand up for your rights.

feminism is a range of social movements, political movements, and ideologies that aim to define and establish the political, economic, personal, and social equality of the sexes.

feminism is equality for both sexes. no one is superior or inferior.

feminists don't want women to be superior to men, we want to be equal to them, both sexes to be equal to each other.

both sexes are equal to each other, no one is superior. but some idiots don't seem to get that.

what's a feminist?

being a feminist means that you fight for the equality of all people. it's important that your feminism is intersectional; it should not exclude people based on their gender, race, socioeconomic status, ability, or sexual orientation. feminism allows people to look at the world not as it is, but how it could be and should be.

to be a feminist is simply to believe that everybody should be treated equally, regardless of sex.

you don't have to be a women to be a feminist, you just have to be human.

why is feminism important?

embracing the feminist movement is the only route to achieving gender equality, and empowers men and women to live freer and more complete lives.

feminism strives for equality of the sexes, not superiority for women. And one of the main aims of feminism is to take the gender roles that have been around for many years and deconstruct these to allow people to live free and empowered lives, without being tied down to 'traditional' restrictions. This will benefit both men and women. It is a movement that everyone can, and should, get involved with.
