Who goes there?
What's that sound?
Is there a monster awaiting to scare? When the lights are out,
things begin to creak,
making me feel there's scary things aboutWhat was that?
Did I see something move?
What if there's a monster under the mat?The room closest is my Mother's,
Mum! Come quick!
Is it safe to come out of the covers?I must turn on the light,
but the switch is afar,
walking there will muster all my mightThe light that I seek,
I'm scared of the darkness,
but this does not make me meekThe room is now bright,
it's now time to sleep...
Goodnight!- A. J. Curran

This poem is about the fear many children face when it comes to the dark.
