The Dark

Who goes there?
What's that sound?
Is there a monster awaiting to scare?

When the lights are out,
things begin to creak,
making me feel there's scary things about

What was that?
Did I see something move?
What if there's a monster under the mat?

The room closest is my Mother's,
Mum! Come quick!
Is it safe to come out of the covers?

I must turn on the light,
but the switch is afar,
walking there will muster all my might

The light that I seek,
I'm scared of the darkness,
but this does not make me meek

The room is now bright,
it's now time to sleep...
Goodnight!
