12 months

It was around that time of year, and this was when you were stressed the most. All of your gifts were bought and the holiday cards from "The Barnes" were sent out. The last thing left to do on your list was to get relax with your babies.

"Mama!" James squealed as you ticked his belly on his tummy time mat. James loved his tummy time, whereas Sammy didn't.

She on the other hand despised it. She would wail and cry and do everything in her power to get back on her back. It made you and Bucky laugh sometimes at how different they really were, not just in looks but in personality as well.

The twins were complete opposites. Sammy had Bucky's dark brown locks, whereas James had Y/h/c ones. Sammy had your Y/e/c eyes, whereas James had Bucky's icy blue ones.

If you didn't know them then you'd probably wouldn't even notice that they were twins.

"Dada!" Sammy wailed as she squirmed on the mat.

"What's wrong pumpkin?" Bucky cooed as he picked Sammy up and threw her in the air.

Sammy then pointed to the mat and made a face of disgust, this caused you and Bucky to laugh.

"Do you know when we'll leave for our honeymoon?" Bucky asked out of no where.

"Well I was thinking after their first Christmas we can leave them with either Tony or my dad and leave for a week." You replied, as you grabbed James and walked over to your husband.

"That sounds good." He said, and kissed you.

(Time skip)

You sat on the couch in the house, watching the snow fall outside and flipping through Netflix as the twins took their afternoon nap. Bucky was flying back into New York tomorrow morning from a mission in Hawaii, so you were enjoying these few moments of peace before your home became hectic once again, not that you minded in the slightest.

After only half an episode of the office, you were startled by a little voice coming over the baby monitor.  "Mama," you heard your son coo in his sleepy voice.

You stood, pausing the TV and walking down the hall to his nursery. The door was open and you looked in to see him standing up and holding the railing, a skill he'd picked up a couple months ago.

There were tear stains on his little cheeks and his
Y/H/C frizzy curls were standing every which way. The twins usually slept for two hours every afternoon, but not today apparently.

"Aw, Bubba," you sighed, walking in and picking him up. You wiped the water from his chubby cheeks and kissed them, before pushing his curls back behind one ear.

You laid him down on the changing table and changed his diaper, before redressing him in a cool yellow, long sleeve onesie and some gray sweat pants. You picked him back up and his big crystal blue eyes looked up at you with sleep surrounding them, and he leaned his head down on your shoulder as you retreated into the living room.

You rubbed his back as you found your spot on the couch and he fell back asleep in your arms. So much for your time to yourself, but he looked so precious drooling on your shoulder.

You got through another episode of the office before he woke up again, and this time, he was staying up. You sat him in his Pack 'n Play that was settled in the corner of the room so you could make both of them some dinner, but James wasn't having it. His loud cries echoed off the walls, and he voiced his crabby dismay.

Sammy soon joined the party soon after, being startled awake by James loud petition. Times like this made you want to rip your own hair out. Having Bucky gone and it being two to one really didn't help sometimes. You did your best, but when the both of them teamed up on you like this with Bucky gone, you often cried by being to overwhelmed by your babies cries.
