After The Unexpected

[06] -Five?!

4 years old 

You had woken up for the third day in a row with the worst nausea you'd had in a long time. At first, you figured you caught something from one of the twins classmates since those kids were always getting sick, but the more consistent it got, the more suspicious you got. 

Bucky assured you he could get the twins ready for school so you could rest and you had called the team and said you weren't feeling good so you'd just fill out your mission reports for the day, which they didn't mind and were more concerned than anything, Natasha and Sam insisted that you allow them to come over and take care of you. You knew there was no stopping them so you told them they could come by later to run errands later.

Ever since you went on birth control after you had the twins cause you didn't need anymore babies, your periods had been a little sporadic so a missed period wasn't anything unusual, but the combination of nausea and soreness in your chest brought you right back to when you were pregnant with the twins so you were a little bit skeptical of pregnancy.

You and Bucky had talked about trying for more kids, but he and you both decided that it could be a possibility way in the future but if it happened you weren't against it, not everything goes according to plan. 

Bucky headed off to the compound to do some work and the twins were at school, so you decided to call Natasha and Sam letting them know that you were heading to the store.

"I can't believe you think you're pregnant." Natasha chuckled "YOU THINK YOUR WHAT?!" Sam shouted, earning him a smack in the mouth from you for his outburst. "Yes now shut up." You said as you all walked through the aisles of your local pharmacy, searching for what you needed. 

"Wow a family of five, that's three kids y/n. Are you ready for that? I know the twins are getting big but." Sam said after calming down. "There's not much I can do about it now, if I am, I am me and Buck will just have to figure it out as we go." You responded.

"I know, they're getting so big. They've been asking for a little sister or brother for two years though so this may turn out to be a blessing in disguise," you laughed.  Aisle 5 was lined with various pregnancy and fertility tests and you weren't sure which ones had the most accurate reading, but remembered seeing a few on TV. You reached for the first response pregnancy test and decided to get two different brands, just to be sure and then headed back to the apartment. 

Two large water bottles later, you were sat on the toilet, trying your hardest to pee on the stick without getting it on your hands. Last time you were doing this, you were scared beyond all belief. You and Bucky weren't married and were only together for a few months before you found out you were pregnant. This time though, you were more positive. You wanted another baby with Bucky at some point, since your first ones turned out so terrific. You just weren't expecting it to be so soon.

Once the deed was done, you waited with Natasha and Sam for the agonizing three minutes. This part you remembered. Your hands were sweating as you folded your fingers in between each other, cracking the knuckles in anticipation. The timer went off and you jumped over to the counter, your hand immediately picking up the white stick from the surface.  "It's positive." Natasha smiled, pulling you into her side and squeezing you tightly. "OMG YOUR PREGNANT!" Sam screamed, joining in on the hug. You wanted to scream and jump for joy, but a familiar sound made you hesitate.  

You heard the front door close and you knew Bucky was home with Sammy and James so you took both tests and put them at the bottom of your bathroom drawer and you both retreated into the living room.

"Uncle Sam" Sammy squealed when she saw Sam.
Her little arms were wide as she broke into a full sprint across the living room.

"Squid!" Sam yelled back, opening his arms and catching her as she launched herself off the floor. "How was school? How's that boy you were telling me about?" Sam winked at her, making her giggle.
