August 2005

Three days had passed, and still not a word from Mikey or Draken.

(Y/N) laid in her bed and stared at the ceiling like it's the most interesting thing in the world, but her mind was in shambles. Dozens of missed calls and messages from her closest friends like Baji, Mitsuya, Chifuyu, Daji, even the Kawata twins and Mucho texted her. But she ignored all of them.

Mom was working overtime again today. She remembered the night after Hanma dropped her off. She went into her house to find it empty, then found a note by her mom, saying that she was taking the night shift.

The girl only grew up with a mother figure all her life. Her dad was out of the picture. But she remembered once that she found a photo of a mysterious man with her mom in it. She remembered the look on their faces that showed life in both of their eyes and wide smiles across their faces. But what stood out most are tattoos that littered the mans neck, and arms.

She came to a conclusion that maybe her dad was part of a gang too. Or maybe something more extreme. (Y/N) knows that her dad is still alive out there, somewhere, but it never occurred to her to look for him. He left us, so what's the point?

But at the same time, she couldn't help but be grateful to him too. Even though (Y/N) only lived with her mother, they live in a two-storey semi-deluxe home, and her dad still pays for child support and sends money to his family. However, even with the luxury she and her mother got, the older woman still works part time jobs.

(Y/N) could only suspect that it was because of her, that her father left them. And her mother had to deal with her for the rest of her life, but she doesn't show it. Her mom seems rather docile and uninterested of her surroundings, making her look like she's depressed.

That's why the girl decided to work hard on getting the best grades she could. So that she could at least support her mom and leave to take care of herself after she finds a suitable job for a living.

Her daydreaming was interrupted when she heard her doorbell rung. She was confused since she wasn't expecting guests or any food deliveries since she didn't ordered anything. (Y/N) walked to the door and opened it, to reveal a familiar lilac haired boy.

"Mitsuya?"

"Yo, (Y/N)." He greeted.

The two settled themselves down in the living room after the girl prepped tea for her friend.

"So... what are you doing here?" She asked.

"You're seriously asking me that? I guess you haven't been reading the messages I've sent you." Mitsuya drank his tea.

"Oh, right. Sorry." She looked at the ground with a guilty expression.

"It's fine." He reassured her, "I dropped by to check on you."

Her heart warmed at the boys gesture. Out of all Toman members other than Mikey and Draken, (Y/N) likes to hang with Mitsuya the most for his gentle attitude towards other people. Plus, he's also a mature guy, considering that he had to raise his two younger sisters as well.

"Thanks, Mitsuya." She gave him a small smile. "I'm fine, really. Just got a lot on my mind right now." She averted her gaze and looked at the ground.

The boy hummed in acknowledgment. He knew that she was down because of Mikey and Draken fighting. "I guess... you probably haven't heard about what's happening in Toman, either?" Mitsuya's expression turned grim.

(Y/N) narrowed her eyes at him, "What do you mean?"

"Toman has been split up. Into Mikey faction and Draken faction." Mitsuya says solemnly.
