The next morning I am woken up by aggressive knocking at my door. Surprised, I look at my mobile phone, but realise that fortunately I didn't sleep through the alarm.

I put on a jumper and sleepily open the door.

"You wanted to talk, right?" Carlos is standing at my door, far too awake for 7 o'clock.

"But not this early?!" I gesture for him to come into the room.

"Well, now you're awake." He grins and sits down on one of the stools in front of my bed.

"I'm sure the fifteen minutes you robbed me of would have made quite a difference." I survey the bags under my eyes in the mirror at the back of the door and sigh.

"Don't be like that, put concealer on and off you go." He shrugs and looks at me expectantly.

"What?" I ask, confused.

"Jesucristo, I'll pour a coffee over your head. Wake up. You wanted to tell me something."

I let my head fall back into my neck. "Oh yeah. But can I brush my teeth and go to the toilet first?"

Carlos groans. "Fine, then I'll tell you what else I did yesterday while you get ready."

So Carlos tells me about how his evening went and that he and Charles talked about Lando for a long time. I realise once again that Lando has actually made good friends among the grid, even if they are rivals.

"So, now it's your turn." Carlos stands at the window and looks into the backyard of the hotel where people are slowly gathering for breakfast.

While I do my make-up, I start to tell him about the conversation with Charlotte.

"Well, long story short: I guess you're not getting rid of me this season." I'm putting on lipstick when Carlos looks at me in disbelief.

"Bad news?" I ask, even though I know he's happy.

It might be hard to believe that I got along with Carlos right from the start, unlike Lando. Carlos and I have been on the same wavelength since we met and have the same sense of humour - maybe it's also because he can speak to me in Spanish and he can express himself better that way. How often have I had to translate phrases so that Lando understood why we were laughing like hyenas? There is hardly anything we don't know about each other, he is sometimes more like a sibling to me than my other half-siblings.

"No! This is the best news since.... Since ever." He does a little happy dance and I start to laugh out loud.

Before I can do anything else, he pulls me off the chair and makes me do these moves with him. I manage to keep up for a couple of beats before he out-tangoes me.

"Do you think this will get Lando back on track?" he asks after stopping abruptly.

"I think that's what everyone wants at least. I already got to write the official apology for everything he's done so far," I sigh.

"But he didn't say if he's breaking up with Nancy now?" Carlos looks off into the distance.

"Well, Lando said they weren't officially together. But I don't want her around either. Daniel seems to be extremely annoyed, too. That doesn't really promote team spirit," I murmur. "I'm sorry, Chili."
