Friday and I'm almost sad to see school coming to an end for the weekend. No, I'm not a nerd, but learning new things fascinates me. I gather my books that are scattered carelessly across my desk and stack my chair with the others.

"Goodbye Mrs. Lou" I say to the teacher with a happy wave as I head for the door.

I get the usual grin back. "Have a great weekend Rodney, see you Monday." She goes back to the papers on her desk, this time having a smile on her face.

I walk quickly to my locker and put away my books, then grab my sheets for the after school club meeting I called this morning. With me being the leader of both the running club and Me to We club, after school meetings have been necessary if I want to juggle things smoothly. I walk into the classroom that holds the Me to We meeting and take my seat at the front of the class as others continue to enter and take their seats. When it looks like just about everyone is here, I begin.

"Hey guys, sorry for the last minute meeting announcement. Thank you all for coming on such short notice." I give them all an appreciated smile, which they return immediately.

"It's the least we could do after all you do for this school!" A girl named Sarah chirps from the front row. The others agree with her.

I grab my sheet and look over it. "I got the states last night and... We've raised a total of nine thousand dollars towards the school we are building! Give yourselves a round of applause, we're doing great!"

The room breaks out into a chorus of clapping as the grins on their faces widen.

When the clapping ceases, I continue. "I also wanted to make sure that we're all still on for the food drive in two weeks. It's going to be held by the local Salvation Army on both Saturday and Sunday and we need a lot of people helping out to sort foods and take them to the Food Bank. Just find me sometime next week to tell me if you can't make it. That's all, have a great weekend guys!"

Getting waves from the students, I watch as they leave the class in clusters. I gather my papers and head to my locker once every one is gone and spin my combination into my lock, 23-06-57. I grab my bag and put my homework into it, them head out to my blue 1995 Toyota Supra. I place my bag into the passenger side and am about to drive away when I hear a knock on my window.

I look to see Gary Kline, one of Red Lake High's halfbacks on the football team. I roll down my window. "Hey Gary, what's up?" I ask cheerfully.

"Hey Rodney, I was just wondering if you could help me out with my math sometime? Coach says that I have to have at least a B to play in next week's tournament." His expression is hopeful even though he knows that I wouldn't say no.

"Of course Gary, how about I come over Monday. Is right after school good with you?"

He grins, "Yeah, we don't have practise Monday so that'd be great! Thanks Rod!" He jogs away and heads for his car, a happy hop to his step. Gary knows that he'll be able to play next week.

I pull out of the parking lot and drive towards my house. I turn into the long driveway and take in my surroundings. Rosh bushes and manicured hedges outline the brick driveway that goes on for about a kilometre. At the top of the slight slope sits a big white house with the back of it pure glass, the back of the house looking out into the forest. From about halfway up the driveway, I can see my golden retriever, Prince, go through the dog door. There are three floors to the house, not including the basement. I'm not allowed in the basement, it's my dad's private workplace. My room is located on the third floor, along with the library and home theatre. The second floor contains two guest bedrooms, an office, a workout room, and the TV room. Lastly, the third floor has the kitchen, sitting room, dining room, my dad's room, and the pool room. The pool room has a hot tub, steam room, pool with a waterslide, and a mini bar.
