Monday came quicker than Shawn would have liked.  He had the best time yesterday.  And not just because they finally made out (though that was a contributing factor), but because it was with Cassidy.  Maybe he didn't want it to end.

"Cory, you have to help me," said Shawn urgently, to his best friend in the hall, just before school was ending.

"You really like this girl, don't you?" asked Cory, smiling at his best friend.

Shawn stuttered for a second before admitting anything. "Well.. she's — I mean.. yeah," said Shawn.  "I think I like her."

"A lot?" Cory smirked.

Shawn opened his mouth, but it was a second before any words came out. "Yeah," admitted Shawn.  "A lot."

"Well then you should do something romantic.  You gotta tell her, Shawn."

"Cory, you know I'm not good at that."

"Well then I'll help you," he said.  "It's not that hard.  You did it yesterday.  If you don't want it to be over, you have to say something."

"She's kinda a casual person," said Shawn. "So something romantic, but not too fancy?"

Cory thought for a second, but didn't get to say anything before the girls came over.  Shawn scrambled to lean against the locker casually.  He put one foot against it hastily, making a loud bang noise.

"What are you doing?" Topanga asked.  Cassidy cocked an eyebrow.

"Nothing, nothing," said Shawn, crossing his arms. "Right, Cor?"

"Um —"

Shawn kicked him on the shin.

"Nothing," said Cory immediately.

"Right," said Cassidy, not convinced.  "If you don't mind, me and Topanga are going to go to the mall," she finished.  "Unless you have something planned." She faced Shawn.

"Oh, not yet. Um — later though."

"What time?"

"I — it's.. um.."

"Six," finished Cory.

"Okay, six," said Cassidy, with a smile.  "Pick me up."

"See you," said Shawn, trying not to look too awkward. The girls walked away.  "Thanks," said Shawn, letting out a breath.  "What do you have planned, anyway?"

"Dinner," he said.  Shawn made a face. "Let me finish," said Cory.  "Dinner in my backyard."

Shawn didn't stop making the face.  "In your backyard?" he asked.  "Why your backyard?"

"We could set up a table, and candles and stuff," said Cory.  "And there's no dress code or anything, because its not a fancy restaurant."

"I guess that's not so bad," said Shawn.  "But what about your mom and dad?  And your brother and sister? And Feeny?"

"I'm sure we can keep them out of the backyard for an hour."

Shawn was still thinking about it.

"Oh, come on, it's a good idea," said Cory.

"Yeah, I guess.  But what are we eating?"

"Um — you can have some of our dinner?" said Cory, having not really thought about that.

"I guess that's not bad," said Shawn. "It just feels kind of — well, weird.  Taking a girl to your backyard."

"Well, we'll just have to settle."
