Dean's hands pound the tetherball, sending the ball speeding back towards Sam who sighs through his nose catching it and wrapping his long fingers neatly around it.
"Why are we even here? At a beach nonetheless. No demons left to kill?" Sam says dropping the ball so it rocks softly on its rope.
"No, Sammy," Dean grins crookedly his eyes following a young lady across the padding across the sand, "I just thought you could use a vacation. I know how much you love hunting demons."
Sam groans, following his eyes. "Or do you want to see the barely clothed young woman milling around?"
Dean smirks. "Now that is a bonus. Look around Sammy, Long Island beach. So beautiful."
"The beach or the women?"
Dean just laughs grabbing the tetherball again.
Sam stretches. Both he and Dean had gained attention on the beach from countless women and with good reason. Sam wasn't shirtless like his brother but his thin t-shirt had become drenched when Dean drug him into the ocean's waves allowing a nice view of his muscles beneath. As he stretches his shirt rises giving the attentive women a view of his hard stomach and the happy trail that runs along it. However Sam paid no attention to the onlookers as he was desperately trying not to be smack in the face by the tetherball.
Dean, however, got the most attention with his trunks hanging low on his waist and his torso bare and wet. The brothers made quite a handsome pair and a good source of entertainment.
"Listen Sammy, this brunette has been giving looks for half an hour now, so I'm going to go talk to her. I might see you later...or tomorrow." Dean grins and pads off, practically strutting.
Sam rolls his eyes and drops the tetherball. Great. Was this a vacation for him or for Dean?
Figuring it was getting late, Sam settles on going to a small vendor nearby that sells tacos. He sits at the bar next to a blonde lady who was speaking exciting to a guy next to her.
"And so Zeus did use the blueprints I designed for the Coliseum...." She stops suddenly and turns to face him suspiciously, turns back to the guy, and then does a double take.
Sam cautiously puts up a hand at her. She was fairly pretty, if not a few years younger than him, with long blonde hair tied into a ponytail and piercing grey eyes. The guy next to her peers around her, green eyes narrowed and his hair hanging over his eyes.
Before a word could be spoken between the trio, the waiter comes and asks Sam what he wants to eat.
"Yeah, I'd like a taco salad and a glass of water please." Sam says and glances back at the blonde haired girl who was now focused back on her companion.
A hand grips his shoulder and he spins around to face Dean who bears a cut lip. "Happened the brunette had a boyfriend." He grinned then winced, wiping his mouth. "Socked me before I even had a chance to get my guard up."
"Why do you insist on hitting on girls you hardly even know? It can only cause trouble." Sam questions as the waiter sets down his water.
"Not always, but you are younger, you have a lot left to understand about women." Dean pauses and gives the girl sitting beside him the once over. "Now she's good looking." He says loud enough for her to look over at him. He winks.
"Do we have a problem here?" The blonde haired girl's companion demands getting up from his seat and standing in front of the brothers. The water in Sam's glass rippled dangerously.
"No, I'm sorry. It's just my brother here can't keep his mouth shut." Sam apologizes quickly before Dean can open his mouth.
The guy then grins, a little forcefully if anything. "Well then, I'm Percy and this is my girlfriend Annabeth."
The girl, Annabeth, glares at Percy for a moment before turning back to the brothers. "Hello."
Dean grins, "Hello to you-"
"I'm Sam and this my brother Dean." Sam interrupts quickly. "We're visiting here."
"Ah nice, we go to summer camp here." Percy says smiling.
"A little old for summer camp are you?" Sam frowns in confusion.
"Counselors." Annabeth quickly butts in frowning again at her boyfriend. "We're head counselors, right Seaweed Brain?" Sam felt like she had the most responsibility of the two, like him with his brother.
Dean snorts. "Seaweed Brain. An endearing relationship I see."
"Shut up Dean." Sam snaps and holds out his hand to the two.
Percy shakes it and after Annabeth, and he practically engulfs her hand with his own. Both of their hands were callused in exactly the right places where sword calluses would be.
"So, you design things?" Sam offers to Annabeth, trying to relieve some of the tension.
She grins, some of the tension rolling off her and knew he'd said the right thing. But before she could speak, Percy interrupted.
"Oh don't get her started on her architectural stuff. She'll go on until dawn." He grins playfully, but Annabeth's smile vanished.
"Oh I don't mind. I indulge in the complexity and the constant perfecting of architecture and designing."
The smile returns to her face. "Well as a daughter of...a very wise mother, I do enjoy spending time in forming complex ideas..."
She goes on for about twenty minutes explaining and gushing about different pieces of architect and Sam commenting where he saw fit. He hadn't had an actual intelligent conversation in a very long time and he hadn't realized how much he missed it. If only he didn't have to fight demons and other creatures that constantly pestered him, but he was tied to it permanently.
Annabeth pauses at his sudden silence. "Am I boring you?"
Sam looks around, noticing that both Percy and Dean had disappeared from the taco vendor.
"No, no I'm sorry. I was just thinking about something." Sam mutters, shaking his head.
Annabeth nods, "Well I'd better go find Percy now. It was good speaking to you. I can't quite have conversations like this with my boyfriend."
"Then why are you guys together?"Annabeth frowns. "I've got to go. I might see you around."
Although, he didn't want her to go, Sam knew that it wasn't his place to ask her to stay. They'd just met anyway and she had a boyfriend and he...had obligations.
Tossing away his half-eaten taco salad, he pays for his meal and leaves the vendor, looking around for Dean.
