16 YEARS LATER

The phone in your living room began ringing, the sudden loud noise making you jump. You weren't expecting any calls from anyone in the middle of the night.

You sighed and walked into the living room, grabbing the rotary phone. You placed the device on your right ear, "Hello?"

"Hello."

The voice was deep and smooth. "Who's this?" you asked, furrowing your eyebrows.

"It's Nick," the voice said. Your eyes widened when you remembered your childhood ex boyfriend. You had flashbacks to him cheating on you with Ziggy Berman.

Your anger from that time came back to you, "Don't call me ever again." You were about to put the phone back down when Nick suddenly said, "Goddamn it, Y/n. That happened 16 years ago."

"I don't care, you broke my heart," you said, glaring at the floor. "How can somebody forget the time their ex cheated on them?"

"Don't act like you weren't cheating on me too, Y/n," Nick coldly remarked. "With my own brother. How's that holding up to you, huh? What happened to the whole 'Will actually loves me' bullshit?"

"Shut up."

"It's funny because you two aren't even together anymore. Didn't even last a year either. Just a few 6 months."

"I said shut up, asshole," you raised your voice at him.

Nick went silent. "We both fucked up," you admitted. "But we were young, and we've changed haven't we?"

"Yeah," the cop said in agreement.

"Glad we can agree on that. Now I'm gonna go. I don't want to speak to you," you started saying your goodbyes.

"Wait," Nick stopped you, which made you annoyed. "I know you said you don't want to speak to me but I think I can make things right." You scoffed.

"And how are you going to do that, huh?"

"Let's meet up somewhere. Maybe even have a few drinks."

"Are you trying to ask me out on a date?" you asked him, letting out a laugh.

You heard him sigh. "No, I'm not trying to take you out on a date, Y/n. I'm trying to make things right."

"I have a feeling you're going to ask me to do something for you."

Nick chuckled. "And even if I was going to, you know it'd be important," he stated.

You rolled your eyes. "Alright. We can go meet up somewhere. But you better make it worth it."

"I will, don't you worry. I'll see you tomorrow, Y/n."

"See you tomorrow, Nick."
