"Hey! HEY!"
You groaned as you turned around, "Sam! Stop it! Just- stop trying, okay?"
"No! I won't stop, Y/n!" Sam cried, walking closer to you. "I want you, Y/n. I want you back. And I'm sorry I left Shadyside. I- I just thought-"
"Sam, you left it because you didn't want to be here anymore," you remarked. "You never 'thought' about my feelings but yours. But you know what? I get it. Being a Shadysider sucks ass, doesn't it? Just like how you suck Peter's co-"
You quickly stopped yourself when you saw the blonde girl burst down crying. You frowned and sighed, "Listen, I- I'm sorry." You approached her and hugged her tightly.
"I- I shouldn't have left, Y/n. It's my fault," Sam muttered, shutting her eyes closed.
"No, it's my fault," you sighed. "I shouldn't have said those hurtful things."
"Did you really mean it?" Sam looked up at you with sadness in her eyes. You hated seeing her sad, it completely broke you.
It was the same look in her eyes when she had told you over the phone that she was leaving Shadyside to move to Sunnyvale. And you could feel the same feeling of emptiness you had the moment Sam had announced that you two were breaking up because of her mom.
"No, Sam. I didn't mean it," you told her. You cupped her pale pinkish cheeks with your hands. "I could never hate you. I love you."
"I love you too."
The two of you stood there in complete silence, hugging each other tightly before kissing passionately for a short minute. "Hey, let's go back, okay?" you told Sam. She nodded in response.
You held her hand as you and her walked back to the football game.
