Four years after the events of the book,
*Adam's POV*
"Adam, someone is at the door." Anna grumbles beside me as she turns away from me and snuggles deeper into her pillow.
I groan as I now hear the doorbell too, "What time is it?"
"Too early." She responds.
I sigh. All my pack members know they shouldn't interrupt mornings with my mate. It's my favorite time of day. Whoever this is, they have a death wish.
Cade growls in the back of my mind as I get out of bed, also wanting to enjoy the morning longer.
After quickly putting on some sweatpants, I make my way to the door and open it with a scowl on my face.
Guess I'm finding a new fucking Beta.
"Morning Alpha." Jace says cheerily, making me even more pissed off.
"What do you want?" I grumble.
Jace gives me an annoying grin, "Today is a day for the boys. We're going out."
"Excuse me?" Did this idiot really ruin my morning for this?
"Yep. The Luna told me you've been too stressed lately. So we're going out." Jace says.
I narrow my eyes at him. I haven't even been that stressed. I decide to link my wife. 'The next time you tell Jace I'm stressed. Tell him that ruining my mornings stresses me out even more.'
'You can live a morning without spending 30 minutes cuddling me. Have fun today.' Anna links back and I can literally feel her grin through the bond.
I let out a soft growl. "Give me a minute to put on some clothes."
---
When I entered the car five minutes later I was met with a sleeping Jasper in the back. Guess I wasn't the only one who got dragged out of bed.
In the end, there was a reason for the early morning. We had to drive for two hours before arriving at our destination.
"We're going fishing?" I asked when I got out and saw Jace grab a bunch of fishing rods from the back of his truck.
"Yup! According to the internet fishing helps with stress and anxiety as well as concentration, patience and self-esteem. And above all that it helps strengthen bonds!" Jace explains as he gives Jasper, who woke up thirty minutes ago, a box full of bait.
"I think you've done more damage to our 'bonds' than strengthening them so far." Jasper grumbles.
I just let out a sigh as I grab the fishing rods from Jace's hands so he can grab some more supplies. This man took the entire fishing store with him.
When we arrive at the massive lake Jace took us to, I actually get a bit excited. Dad used to take me fishing a few times. Jace wasn't wrong, it helps with patience and concentration.
My excitement dies down when I see Jace place the supplies in a small boat. "I'm not getting on a boat."
Cade doesn't like boats. He prefers being on solid ground. Honestly, so do I. It might be one of the only things we're semi afraid of. It's not like we can't swim. We just don't like boats.
"Come on, Alpha. We can get better fish on the boat." Jace starts to argue.
"Says who? I've caught plenty of fish from the sidelines before." I shoot back.
"You've been fishing before?" Jasper asks.
I nod, "Unlike what the both of you think, I had a life before I lived in the forest."
