[omg Y/N what was that are you ok?]
[uh y-y-y-y-y-y-y-eah. i'm so s-s-sorry you had t-to hear that]
[DON'T BE SORRY!! I'm coming over RIGHT NOW to comfort you<3<3]
30 seconds later, there's a tap on my window. I rush over and push back the curtain. Melissa is crouched down on the roof, holding a bag of chips and some chocolate ice cream. She's changed out of her party clothes and into a comfier outfit: black leggings and a cropped gray hoodie with some sort of logo in the upper left corner. I slide the window open.
"H-h-h-h-h-h-h-how did y-y-you know where I live?" I ask shyly.
She ignores me and instead climbs through the opening and steps inside, letting out a breath of air.
"We're watching a movie." she tells me. "What's your favorite one? Mean Girls? I love that movie! Get your computer out, girl,"
Mean Girls? I've never even see it; I don't watch films. See, I only read because, well, I'm not like other girls. "Yeah, hold on. It's in my backpack."
I pull out the computer and Melissa pulls up the movie. She sets it on my bed and rips back the covers. "Come on, why are you just standing there? Get comfy, duh!"
I hesitantly slide into the bed. It's not that big — our shoulders are touching. She smells like roses and expensive perfume.

I fall asleep about halfway through the movie and wake up with my head on Melissa's chest. The credits are rolling.
"Sorry," she whispers, "I didn't want to wake you."
"I-it's o-o-o-o-o-o-okay."
"Listen, Y/N, now that you're awake I want to apologize. I'm so sorry for the way I behaved at the party. I never meant to attack you like I did. It was wrong. I'd never want to hurt you like that!"
"D-d-d-d-d-d-d-don't be sorry! It's o-okay, really. Jaxon and I are happy together, so Leo is all yours! Um. . . . do- do you think. . . . could we- can we. . . .?"
And suddenly, I burst into song.
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now!
Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shootin' stars?
I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now!Warm erupts inside my heart as I sing my favorite song. I've never felt so happy in my life! I dance around the room, Melissa gazing at me with a smile on her face.
"Y/N, I- I think I l-" Her phone chimes and Melissa gasps. "Crap. I'm an hour past curfew. I have to go now,"
"O-o-o-o-o-okay, er- goodbye, I guess." I sigh lightly.
"See ya!" she throws up a peace sign on her way out the window.
After she leaves, I climb into bed wearing my favorite pajama set (SEE ABOVE PICTURE) and fall asleep, dreaming of that fire red lipstick.
