Ally's entire body was in pain. Not the sharp pain of an injury, but a deep, throbbing ache that she knew no amount of painkillers would get rid of. Her eyes felt heavy, but she could hear someone shouting nearby.
"What the fuck does that mean? That's bullshit! I don't fucking care what the tests say, your tests are fucking wrong. Get someone else to do it again!" Gabe sounded furious, and with each word his voice got louder and clearer. He was in the same room as her, and as she began to opened her eyes, she was blinded by the lights above.
"Calm down, Gabriel," a soothing voice said. "We can talk more about the details when your sister is awake, but for now you need to calm down. Your pheromones will cause the other patients to panic if they drift out of the room. You're lucky that you were even allowed inside."
Ally blinked a few times and the room began to come into focus. It was some kind of hospital room, all white and clean, though from the looks of it a private space. She turned her head to where the voices were coming from and saw Gabe standing over a doctor in a chair, who was watching her brother with almost eerily serene eyes. Gabe was in full Alpha mode, eyes flashing bright yellow, teeth bared at the doctor with canines exposed. The doctor's words were sinking into him though, and even as she watched, he seemed to almost get smaller and his eyes returned to their normal blue.
"Gabe...?" Her voice sounded awful.
Immediately, he turned and came over to her, and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. "Thank fuck you're alright. I was so fucking scared when I saw you on the floor like that, Ally."
"Watch your language," she croaked and ruffled his head, her arms still weak but at least she was able to control them again. "You've been swearing like a sailor the past minute."
Gabe pulled away and laughed, "Well, if you're able to scold me, you're obviously feeling better."
Ally looked over to where the doctor was, now standing, and making his way over to them.
"How are you feeling, Allegra?"
"Much better," she said, realising as he got closer that he was alarmingly attractive. Men in any sort of uniform always got her feeling things, but this glass of tall dark and handsome wrapped in a white lab coat was something else entirely. She could almost feel that heat from before tingling her toes again.
He smiled, "You aren't feeling feverish anymore? Weak in the limbs? Headaches?"
She shook her head, glancing between the doctor and Gabe. "Who is this?" She whispered to Gabe, glancing towards the doctor. "He isn't our usual family doctor."
"My apologies," the doctor said, extending a hand to her, "I'm Dr Elias Conte, head specialist of the OHS clinic here."
"OHS..." The name of the clinic rang a bell, but she couldn't remember.
"Omega Hormonal Specialist," Gabe said softly, unable to look at her as he did.
"Omega..." She began, then shook her head, "What the fuck am I doing at an Omega clinic?"
Dr Conte sat down next to the bed and handed her a document wallet. She just held it and stared at the label on the front that contained her patient information.
Allegra Laurent
22 - Female
Dominant Omega
"What the fuck..." Her voice barely made a sound, but in the silent room, it was clearly heard.
"I won't beat around the bush for you," Dr Conte spoke. "What you experienced earlier was a heat cycle, and a very violent one. I can only presume that due to you being on Alpha supplements for most of your life, it somehow affected your presentation of the Omega hormones until---"
