Dr Conte carried Ally out of the bathroom and through the middle of the club without any hesitation. She hid her face in his shoulder, knowing that people would be stopping to stare. Even if she wasn't being carried like a child in his arms, her pheromones would be strong enough for most Alphas in the room to smell. She didn't want to see their eyes on her.
"Ally?" She heard Maxim call, and Dr Conte slowed his walking only slightly. She didn't look up, but she could hear a slight rumble from in Dr Conte's chest. "Are you alright?"
"She'll be fine," Dr Conte replied, his voice sharp.
"Who asked you? Who the hell are you anyway?"
The rumble grew louder, into almost a growl, "None of your business. Now move."
Ally didn't know what Maxim did, but whatever it was set Dr Conte off. He let out a snarl and stopped walking entirely, his arms tightening around her. "Don't you fucking touch her."
She didn't hear if Maxim replied, but Dr Conte took a breath and began walking again, quickly towards the exit. Her face was still tucked into the crook of his neck, and as they got outside, she realised she could smell his scent a little. Only very faint, like a cologne sprayed on at the start of the day, but definitely there. It was tantalising - a rich, almost chocolatey smell contrasted with a crisp mint aftertaste. Without even realising what she was doing, she licked his neck as though she could taste it.
"Allegra, please don't," Elias -- no, Dr Conte -- whispered, voice husky. "I'm not really in control right now. I was in such a rush to get here, I missed my second suppressant. I need to get you home right away."
With every step he took, his scent grew stronger, and Ally felt the heat in her core growing stronger once again. Where before she had been soothed by his touch, now it was only flaming the growing fever in her. She could tell from the way his breathing hitched that her pheromones must have increased as well, and he cursed under his breath.
"Where even is your house? Shit." He cursed again as he stopped, "I need to put you down for a second so I can unlock my car. Can you stand? Lean against me."
Elias -- fuck it, Dr Conte could stay in the clinic, tonight he was Elias -- lowered her legs gently and she stood against him, arms still wrapped around his neck as he fished around in his pocket for his car keys. Ally pressed her nose into his shirt, filling her lungs with his scent, hungry for it. He unlocked his car and threw the passenger door open, and shoved her inside almost roughly.
"Sorry," he said, voice rough, "fucking hell."
He shut the door and ran around the car, but hesitated before he got into the drivers side. Ally watched him press his forehead against the door and take a few deep breaths, then reach into his pocket and pull out a mask. After he put it on, he climbed into the car and started the engine.
"Where do you live?"
She stared at him, somehow irritated by the fact that he put a mask on. Did he not like her scent? She felt a strange stabbing sensation in her gut at the thought. "Too far away."
"That's not an answer."
"I'm not going home."
Elias snapped his eyes to her, bright yellow eyes, "Allegra, now is not the fucking time. I---"
Ally leaned over to him, her face only inches from his, "I said, I'm not going home. You're going to take me to your place."
He watched her for a moment, breathing heavily, before he growled and drove off. "I must be fucking insane. There's no other explanation," he grumbled under his breath as he drove through the streets quickly. "No, no way. I'm just going to take you to the OHS clinic. You can sleep there for the night."
