Chapter VI: Reminiscence

Angelique woke up with her eyes soaked in tears, again. She checked her reflection in the mirror. And yes, she looked like a mess again.

She can't remember much of what she dreamt of this time. But she knows it's about him as always.

She is very annoyed with that feeling, like she knows what is happening but not. Confusing and irritating.

It's really frustrating. If she could just remember what really happened, then she could feed that consciousness of hers.

She finished up with her stuff then went downstairs to eat..

How could she not have noticed earlier? She is alone in the house. She really is absent-minded.

But where are they?

She went to Liyanne's room. She was probably having a KDRAMA marathon and didn't notice the time again. But the disappointment came to Angelique when she find out she wasn't there.

She walked towards the next room and they were also not there.

She grabbed her phone to call Liyanne, but she stopped as soon as it flashed on her lockscreen.

November 17.. She didn't even notice that almost a year had passed since she woke up from her coma. The year has passed by really quickly. Everything is still lingering in her head from time to time.

Exactly 5 years ago, Liam died because of her, as she believed. The disappointment and guilt still built up inside of her despite what had happened this past year.

Both her mom and dad had already accepted it. But not for her.

She smiled bitterly as she walked down the stairs.

'They didn't even let me join. I want to visit Liam, too. "

She sighed, to ease the pain. To stop the tears stuck in her eyes. As all those bad memories struck her again like lightning in a storm.

She instinctively called Nathan.

"What's up?"

"You busy?"

"Not so. Wait, did you just wake up? "

"Is it obvious?" Angelique asked, still with a sleepy voice.

"It's freaking 3 in the afternoon, babe. What did you do last night?"

"Whatever. And don't call me babe. We are not close. "

"Nye-nye. Not close, but you called me out of nowhere. Why do you call me by the way? "

"Bored." She answered with a bored tone.

"Okay, I'll end this call. "

When Angelique thought he was joking, beeping sounds could be heard right after.

Tch.

But instead of being angry again, her attention was diverted to the door, which swung open. It's Liyanne and her mom.

"Hi? Where have you been?" She knew she shouldn't have asked because it was pretty obvious with that bunch of shopping bags.

"The mall. Liyanne was trying to wake you up earlier, but you said we should go first and you will." Mom stated, she probably noticed Angelique's reaction.

"I don't remember saying so."

"You did said it. Now help me with these groceries," Liyanne commanded, then handed her a few large eco-bags.
