Kade POV

"I'm sorry Kade, I can't be with you any more" Amber softly whispered not looking me in the eye.

"Why is that?" I asked as she let the tears fall from her eyes.

"Because, I found my mate." She quickly replied.

"I thought you said we were mates?" I asked defensively. Something was off with her, its not like her to lie like this.

"I lied, I wanted the crown." She replied again so effortlessly it made her sound like she was hiding something from me.

"What is it that you're not telling me Amber?" I questioned again.

"She's actually telling you the truth big brother. Caught her with the redhead discussing their plan to take over the throne." Kylie replied from the door frame. Her arms were crossed and she had that serious look in her eye.

My sister is a trouble maker that is for sure but she has never lied before. Why start now?

"You're lying Kylie." I stated.

"Oh Kade, when did you get so stupid? Remember I don't lie big brother. By the way her mate is human she was planning to kill him." She replied.

"Is this true Amber?" I asked she bit her lip and looked at her feet not saying a word.

"Come on Amber you were quick to talk in the girl's restroom a few hours ago. What happen cat caught your tongue?" Kylie instigated.

"Just tell me Amber." I demanded once more.

"It's a lie!" Amber screamed as she held her head dropping to her knees, screaming in pain.

"What's happening to her?" I asked Kylie, I rushed to Amber's side trying to calm her only she screamed more.

"The Vampire's compulsion." I heard Elijah's voice, looking up he stood next to Kylie on the other side of the door frame.

"What did you guys do to her?" I jumped up.

"Nothing she could have prevented. It's what happens when you are compelled to tell the truth, but decide to lie instead. She will stop screaming when she is either dead or tells the truth." Kylie replied.

"Kylie I will kill you for this!" Amber screamed in pain.

"No you wont." Elijah defended my sister.

"Make this pain stop!" Amber cried out.

"Tell the truth then it will." Kylie demanded.

"Never!" Amber argued. Girls I swear they're so fucking stubborn.

"Amber tell the damn truth!" I ordered, my voice rich in power making her drop her head.

"Fine, it's all true. I was planning to kill my mate and Kylie to get the throne." Amber cried out as she managed to drop her hands from her head as the pain left.

"Told ya. Let's go Elijah our work is finished here." Kylie giggled as she linked arms with my uncle as the walked away.

"Kade..." Amber whispered from the ground.

"We have nothing to talk about Amber." I replied as I left the empty class room.

It was the end of the school day and the halls were slowly becoming a ghost town as I left the empty class leaving Amber behind. I was hoping she was telling some kind of truth, however my lust covered my eyes and all I saw was the good in her.

"You look upset." A girl I never met before stated as she closed her locker.

"Well when your girlfriend lied about everything you kind of get that way." I replied. Looking down at the ground.
