"What is this all about? Why go to training and provoke us to fight with each other? It doesn't make any sense to me." I asked the man dressed in an all white clothing while we're walking in this endless corridors.
"Your questions will soon be answered. Eventually, you'll be finding it all out about why we're doing this if you set your focus, attention and dedication into it." He answered, not even sparing a second to glance at me.
"How can I focus on one thing if in the first place I don't even know why I have to do it?" I asked, more curiously.
This whole thing is so brain-teasing for me. Waking up without prior memories is probably one of the reasons why I got so many questions in my head. It feels like my whole body is numb and my head is overly clouded.
At least, I remembered my name.
"There is no place outside for the weak. If you could see the current state of the world, you'll be devastated. Wars are raging on, little girl. You know what's in the battlefield? You would not believe me." He replied, firmly.
Upon hearing those words, I sighed. Mankind came too far. Science has always been part of the way we live - on how we do things. Maybe because it makes our life easier. But because of these greedy politicians that teamed up with some idiotic scientists, it brought devastation to the whole world.
"Now I can say that surviving is harder than living at this point." I murmured.
"Exactly."
✵
"This is your room."
Finally, we stopped walking and I was near to sighing in relief when he spoke again.
"Remember your schedule and memorize your rookie number. You're gonna need that in various times." He opened the door for me.
I watched full of anticipation as the door swung open and it only revealed... a plain white walled room? My face expression instantly dropped in disappointment.
"You are a Class D student, no. 4419 of Generation 3025." He said and instantly left.
I sighed before stepping in my room and closing the door afterwards. This room is clean and it has no awful smell, but it's too boring.
I looked around and it only has a bed on the corner, a desk beside it, a door which seems like the bathroom door, a closet and no window. However, there's this small screen attached on the wall and it shows the time.
11:56 pm.
I looked down on the paper I'm holding in my hand. It's a print of my schedule and other pieces of information. How did they get all these information about me when it's too personal? I don't remember giving out my personal details to anyone.
This generation I'm in is literally scaring the living shit out of me.
Humanity of today is so advanced. The malls and grocery stores have robots for assisting customers, in school they're more on teaching us electronics and technology, it's already weird considering the fact that we use odd devices to generate our surroundings into a classroom-like environment so basically, we can attend lessons at home. When I go outside there are hundreds of drones flying just above my head. Trees are nowhere to be seen, so if you see one, it's of luck.
My eyes went south and it darted on the name of my instructor. So, he's a guy huh? I hope he's not scary. I hate scary people, they're so intimidating.
But, his name says otherwise.
Lee Minho.
He seems nice, well— based on his name.
