Chapter 40

Cataclysm

"Chaos, huh?" A lady dressed in black slowly turn her swivel chair, a glass of wine in her hand. "As if it's new. I always wondered how the traitors would handle such cataclysm." She clicked her tongue and put the cigarette on the ash tray.

"I knew it. The District 9 traitors never fail to amaze me with their brilliant minds. What should we do to them, Soojin?" She tilted her head, twirling some strands of her short jet black hair in her finger.

"Lady Soyeon, I'm afraid we will not be able to reach the traitors. They already left the district, abandoning their boss." Soojin put her leg over the other, staring at her newly designed nails.

"Poor old man. He should've avoided being such an ambitious idiot in the first place. He lost the backbone of his district and now he's on the dirty ground, crawling his way back up." Soyeon let out an amused yet sarcastic laugh.

The lady in a red dress and apple red lipstick held the mirror and stared at her reflection on it. Her mole under her eyelid made her ten times more attractive, radiating intense but unique beauty. "How about we took over the district or team up with the traitors?"

Soyeon looked at Soojin with wide eyes. Her lips eventually rose into a devilish smirk, tracing her own cheek with her long nails. "Brilliant."

The lady in black rose up from her seat and leaned her palms on the desk. "How about we do both?"

"District 9 has fallen. The authorities are currently holding a search and rescue operation for the district leader, Mr. Park Jin Young. The facility building were in flames earlier but our team has been informed that no person was inside when the cataclysm happened."

"You see that, Captain?" The man in suit gestured the large screen. "That's the chaos I've been telling you about." Wooyoung grinned.

The Captain sighed heavily and loosen the tie wrapped around his neck. "We're right here in the middle of this never-ending sea. Our district authorities gave up on searching for us, assuming that we're dead." He laughed.

"See the radar and try to contact the traitors. I want to build and alliance with them." Hongjoong, the captain ordered and the latter nodded, walking out of the room.

"I fucking hate being called as pirates. Do I have a hook in my hand? No! Do I drink sea water? No way! Do I search for treasures? Yes but I haven't gotten one since we drifted away from our own district facility!" Another one ranted, kicking the other's feet under the table.

The Captain glared at the boy and he immediately shut up. "On the bright side, it's better in here than being locked up inside a damn building."
