Lorenzo's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about what I've just said.
I wasn't thinking it just... came out.
I didn't mean a word of what I told her yet I did say it, and it hurt her.
I'm used to messing with her and throwing snarky comments here and there but I've never stepped on such a personal territory.
However, the more I thought about it, the more I started to think that it goes further than her just getting married young...
So many things were filling my mind : questions, regrets, worry....
I should've never let her leave this damn car!
I was driving back to their house and I hoped I would find her there safe... I still need my partner, right?
——————————————————————-
I was pushing the doors open to quickly enter the house and shelter from the rain.
"You're back! So how did-"
"Is Valeria home?" I cut my father off.
"I think she went up not so long ago, why?"
I hold out a breath I didn't thought i was holding, relieved that nothing happened on her way back. I walk up the stairs without an other word before my father calls me back again :
"Hey! I'm still waiting for an update!"
"Ivan took off earlier than planned, we missed them" I announce briefly.
I am walking towards the bar, in need of a drink after this horrible day.
I quickly enter the room and start pouring myself some whiskey before I hear a voice behind me.
"What happened out there?"
I turn around to find Lionel standing against the wall, and staring at me.
"We lost them" I answer while taking a sip of my drink.
"No, I'm not talking about that. I know my sister, it wasn't about a failed mission... something happened with you. Or else she wouldn't have called me to send her a car in the middle of nowhere under a thunderstorm."
"We had a little... argument"
"Mhm, well whatever that little "argument" was about, I suggest you go and fix it" he announces before leaving me by myself.
I rethink our whole discussion with Valeria and come to a conclusion that I wasn't pleased with.
I stamp my fist on the counter and walk out.

*Play song here*
I am climbing up the wall, trying to reach her window.
The rain was pouring on my face and making the whole place slippery.
I am mature enough to recognize when I am wrong, and I felt like I had to do something to get rid of that culpability feeling.
Once I finally reached her room, the window was half open like I expected.
I push it open and get inside.
I take a look around the room and realize that she's nowhere to be seen...
As I am about to leave, the bathroom door opens and reveals her coming out with a towel wrapped around her body .
"What the hell!" She shouts, grabbing the nearest object, ready to throw it at her intruder.
"Wow it's me" I say, putting my hair up.
"Is that supposed to make me feel any better? What the fuck are you doing climbing up my window"
"I knew you wouldn't let me in if I came by your door"
"Yeah, and I'm very right to do so, get out" she says coldly.
"I just want you to listen to me for two minutes"
"I don't have two minutes to accord to someone like you"
"Listen, I know I messed up okay? I didn't mean what I said and I'm sorry if it hurt you"
"Great, you said what you wanted to, now you're out"
"So that's all you're going to say?"
"I don't know what you expected exactly, I'm sorry to deceive you but I am not adding anything to this conversation"
"What happened to you?" I scoff. "You were so kind of loving, and then the you I knew disappeared into thin air..."
"Pain is what happened to me okay!" she finally breaks down. Her expression goes blank and heartbreaking sobs escape her lips as she's holding tighter onto her towel.
"You had no business into mentioning my past" she adds, "Especially when you have no idea what you're talking about"
Seeing her in such a state brought me more sadness than it should and all I wanted was to fix my mistake. Her tears unconsciously made me step closer to her in any attempt to comfort.
"No... don't even try it" she says holding her hand out.
"Maybe you could explain to me, so I could have an idea of what I am talking about" I propose.
"Trust me, you don't want to know"
"Maybe I do, help me understand"
"You can't understand," she says looking up at me, "It hurts, it hurts a lot. But I'll keep it to myself so it doesn't hurt anyone else"
