My name is Isaiah Moon, Ruby Kilgore. I dream of becoming a Pokémon trainer, but for now, I open my Christmas present. My eyes were in awe as a Charmander's head popped out.
"Merry Christmas, hon," Mom chirped.
"Mom!" I said, holding it up.
The Charmander coughed, and a small part of the flame fell on my face.
"Ha!" I spoke. "Already know ember, ay?" I asked Charmander, who coughed again.
My big brother, Sam's present was a small piece of charcoal on a string. This boosted the power of fire-type moves.
"Thanks, Sam!" I spoke.
I put the charcoal around Charmander's neck. The rest of Christmas was fun. Mom got a new coin purse from me, Sam got a bunch of cooking utensils for his restaurant, and that was it. We ate Christmas dinner (Charmander accidentally roasted my ham), watched a movie, and went to bed.
Charmander and I had become best friends. We played in the backyard, practiced battling with logs and wooden poles, and were always the first to enter the dining room for breakfast. Charmander had learned ember on Christmas. It became more and more potent as the days went by.
A couple of days later, I noticed that Charmander's Pokéball was a friend ball, a little green ball that immediately made you and your Pokémon best friends. I asked Mom, and she said she did that on purpose.
"I wanted you and your Pokémon to have a special bond from the start." She chirped; she always had a sort of cheerful voice.
"Wow! Really?" I asked, rubbing Charmander's neck.
I had brown curly/fluffy hair and brown skin with lake-blue eyes. My mom had light skin, brown eyes, and black hair. My dad was dark brown, had an adorable bald head, and had brown eyes. Sam was light-skinned, had smooth, straight red-brown hair, and had a mixture of autumn and blue-colored looks. Sam was my hero. Before opening a restaurant, he was the best Pokémon trainer in town. He stopped when a Pokémon trainer got the better of him and said things he never told the family.
On the last day of December, the family and I (along with Charmander) went deeper into town to see the fireworks. To pass the time, we went to a seafood restaurant, a video game shop, and the firework seeing spot.
"3, 2, 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!" the family, I, and the whole town cheered. There were fireworks everywhere, and they were dazzling Red, blue, green, yellow, and even a few shaped like Pokémon Charmander rather enjoyed the Charizard-shaped one.
We went home an hour later. I slept with my Charmander in my arms; I heard clattering. Only I and Charmander listened to this because when we walked outside to the kitchen, no one was there except a couple of darkly dressed people. I froze. There were bandits in my home. I grabbed a stick, but someone grabbed me.
"Hush up now."The bandit said, holding my neck tightly.
"Char!" Charmander tipped.
"Aw, look at the little lizard."The bandit said.
Charmander used ember. The bandit yelled as he dropped me. I knocked him out with the stick. Charmander roasted the other bandits as they ran, but I had already called the police. They caught the bandits with ease.
"I told you we should've brought Pokemon!" One of the bandits shouted to the other The two argued as they were pushed into the car.
"Well done, men." The chief said, "Those guys always targeted houses during Holidays Reminds me of two guys in a movie..." he murmured. He looked at me and Charmander. "That's a finePokémon." the chief said.
"Thanks, officer," I said.
My family was awarded 10,000 grand for catching the criminals. We used them to pay off the bills, and for my education, I walked inside with Charmander.
"You know, we'll be best friends... right Charmander?" I asked. Charmander chirped with excitement. We then walked into the house. I walked into my room, snuggled in the sheets with Charmander, and fell asleep, dreaming of wondrous adventures.
