Book 1: Healing Bonds (Pin Hawthorne Love Story)

Chapter 1

Jason's P. O. V:

I drive my silver four wheel drive with the horse float attached towards the open gate leading into a small bit quaint stable area with a sign next to it that reads: "Bright Fields Stables."

With me is my brother and his wife, Stephanie, and their son, Howard. My wife and daughter are back at our house, unpacking boxes.

It's been seven years since we were last here, when my daughter was a student at these very stables. Now, we're back and my wife, brother and I are hoping being back will help my daughter. She's been in a terrible showjumping accident last year, and hasn't ridden since.

In fact, Isobel has said she's quit riding altogether, though we all know how much she loves it and her horse.

I pull up into the driveway and my brother Ben and I get out. I got my looks of black hair and green eyes from my mother, while he got the brown hair and blue eyes from dad. Isobel has her mother's blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. Steph has waist length black hair and deep brown eyes. She's also a vet. Howard has his fathers brown hair and his mother's brown eyes.

I wear a red flannel long sleeved shirt with a sleeveless vest over it and Ben just wears a similar outfit but with a blue shirt and long sleeved jacket. He also wears a white cowboy hat.

We go round to the back of the float and lower the ramp. Inside, are six horses, standing with their backs to us. I immediately go to the light gray Arabian gelding and calmly back him out of the float, while Ben gets his American Paint Horse mare, Rain. Howard gets his American Paint Horse, Lakota, while Steph gets her white Percheron mare, Crystal.
