Steadily, the early morning sun rose to highlight the scenery and waking up the wildlife living in the environment. I scrambled out of the scratchy bed for the bitter air to pierce my tanned skin. I pulled my daytime dress over my night garments, I made sure to wear long sleeves since it seemed to be slightly nippy. Next, I brushed out my knotted hair with the wooden brush leaving my hair nice and smooth. Then, I went to brush my teeth, the minty thickness cleaned the insignificant number of germs of the couple of teeth I have, my teeth are currently in the stage of falling out leaving me quite gappy. Finally, I grabbed my black laced up boots and slipped them over my grey socks that kept my feet toasty.
Speedily, I bolted down the ricked stairs to be greeted with my mother's scrambled eggs, yummy. I scoffed down the egg, forgetting to savour the creamy consistency, that was fluffy but not dry. I glugged down a glass of water, that was refreshing to my dried mouth from not drinking for a mass amount of hours. Remembering how my mother wants me to resemble a 'real' lady, I carefully placed down my steel knife and fork to make it seem I was gracefully eating my food.
After placing my dirty dish and cutlery into the sink to soak in the bubbly water, I hurtled out of the front door to meet my friend in the field near my house. The fresh air filled my lungs as I took sharp breaths before the sublime view in front of me. As I sat on the marshy ground I wondered about what unexpected events would happen today; would I finally beat Clay in sparing or would I fall and scrape my knee while running around, the only god knows. Exhausted, after the run-up of the steep hill, I decided to close my eyes for a little while since Clay is nowhere in sight.
What felt like only a second but in reality was half an hour, I heard a powerful "BOO" in my left ear. I jumped out of my skin from the sudden surprise my instincts kicked in and the next thing I know, I had just tackled the person to the ground; but I only looked down to see Clay staring wide-eyed at me, he didn't seem to expect this. Without delay, I hopped off Clay with an awkward chuckle and lending a hand to try and help him up.
However, Clay had different plans, he seemed to find my instantaneous act hilarious and was balling his eyes out from laughter causing him to clutch his stomach on the grassy ground. Jokingly, I let out a harsh huff and playfully rolled my groggy eyes. Clay then bolted up, hitting me on the back of the head before shrieking "IT!", Jesus christ why was this boy acting so energetic this morning, he was acting as I will never see him again.
I snapped back to reality and bounded towards Clay. Trud, trud, trud, my feet pounded against the dewy grass. I was the predator and Clay was my prey, I wasn't going to lose this. The frightful air wisped my h/c hair out of my youthful face. Crystle water droplets started to form in my e/c eyes from the emasculate speed I was sprinting at. Clay seemingly was starting to become exhausted; therefore, I was briskly catching up thee the teenage boy fright before me. I reached out my bijou arms and thankfully my fingertips just about touched Clay's shoulder, meaning I won. At last, I had finally won a challenge against Clay, my biggest but an only competitor.
I was gasping for air after the slight chase we had just committed. Attempting to allow more air to enter my small lungs, I had my arms on my knees for support. As soon as I had even started to catch my breath back I turn to see Clay pulling a devilish smile at me. It only took a second to register what was going through the young man's mind at that moment. However, as soon as I did register what this boy thought process was, I knew it was going to be in my best interests to run, fast. I have always known that Clay HATES losing, so surprise, surprise he is going to pull an Uno reverse card. I let my legs run as fast as they could carry me to bring myself out of the potential danger of losing once again. My poor thighs were burning and my lungs were on fire, safe to say I feel like a phoenix at this very moment. You know how I said earlier that I was a preditor and Clay was prey, well now it's visa vera and I was a gazelle but Clay was a lion.
Annoyingly, a couple of sharp stabbing pains intruded my in my knees, distracting me from the task at hand causing me to slow down by a minuscule. It was a strange pain, but that only made me more curious. I wasn't like an arching pain, or stabbing pain, but more like my back is about to burst pain. Unexpectedly though, I was soon distracted by a heavy force making me tumble to the field below. Unfortunately, I hit the ground with a large wallop causing me to let out a rather large huff. I flipped over, only to look up to a smirking Clay above me, he is just so cocky I swear.
Then that cocky smile I know all too well started to fade, this confused me but more importantly concerned me. Watchfully, the boy started to awkwardly sit opposite me, cross-legged, on the hard floor. Hurridly, I sat up, waiting to hear the bad news I could tell the boy was about to tell; but nothing could have prepared me for what he was about to say. The boy let out a small sigh before beginning with "Y/n... I have to tell you something extremely important".
I nodded a "Go ahead"
"The thing is, you know how I have been wanting to be a guard for an extremely long time now, well there is a Prince, called Prince GeorgeNotFound, he has luscious brown hair and cocoa brown eyes, and I have been offered to be his knight"
Silence sat between us for only a couple of seconds but felt like years. Also, the silence wasn't awkward, but it was a nice silence, it was more a depressing and lonely kind of silence.
"I hope you can be happy for me Y/n, I have been wanting to do this forever and I know that I am sorta your only friend and I want you to be so, so happy. However, I believe this is my only shot, and I have to take it." Clay begged
I sat and contemplated for a minute before stating "It's okay, I am so proud of you, go chase your dreams and DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT, let me hold you back, ever!"
"Okay, thank you Y/n" and that was the last thing Clay said to me before departing.
I watched him stride into the sunset, I hadn't realised how the day had gone so fast. I felt warm liquid trickle down my sweating face. I had never felt such bad pain before. The pain of losing someone you deeply cared for.

Sorry that I haven't updated in a while, I went on holiday and as soon as I came back I pretty much went back to school so that's the reason for my slow updating. I will attempt to get back on track with the updating now I'm settled back at school but I am currently in a very essential year so let's see how that goes.
Have a nice day and don't forget to drink some water!
