Eat you alive

Y/N's POV

The next morning I got up and walked out of my room. It was still dark out and the cold created a fog that made me shudder thinking of my dream. I was on my way to the kitchen when I spotted a Hailey who was looking around as nervous as usual when she spotted me.

"Y-you scared me..." She whimpered softly and I apologized to her. I took one look at her and I could tell she hasn't slept. The poor girl has been through so much, of course she hasn't slept.

"How did you s-sleep?" Heailey asked and I sighed. "That b-bad?" She asked seeming worried. I nodded and groaned before Scarlett joined us. I wasn't really too fond of Scarlett so I was glad to have Hailey there. I did not trust Scarlett at all.

"Um...c-can I talk to you alone?" Hailey asked me and I was a bit surprised. "Uh...yeah sure." I said and followed her away from Scarlett. Once we seemed further away from Scarlett I felt even more on edge. This isn't like Hailey to want to talk to someone alone.

"S-sorry for scaring you...you just didn't look very comfortable around Scarlett." She explained and I relaxed as my suspicions started to melt away. I then looked at her waiting for her to continue.

"That and I'm curious how you know Lawrence...you and him seem like you've known each other forever." She said and I couldn't help but grin.

"We grew up in the same neighborhood. I remember he would always run away from his parents to play...in the winter he and I would make snow forts and hide out in them. He and I pretended it was our castle...at one point when he was a child he would ask if we were the king and queen if that meant me and him were married. I said yes and told him that when we were older we should get married for real. When we got older he teased me about it and I thought he didn't like me the same way. Then the outbreak happened and the last thing he did was kiss me and take Judy somewhere safe as my request." I explained smiling softly. She giggled and 'aww'ed at my story.

Suddenly I heard a groan and froze.
No. No no no no! Not now! This can't be happening!
I turned around and saw a group of zombies flooding in.

"Looks like they're about to eat you alive." Hailey chuckled as I realized I didn't have my knife.
